Can someone help me? I just rescued another Yorkie today (seems to be a growing trend with me!) and she is only 3 pounds and pregnant. I have a vet appointment for her tomorrow, and I just want to know what questions to ask. She was only studded a week ago, is it too late to terminate the pregnancy? Is that even possible? The lady I got her from said she had had a litter of 4 before with no problems, but she doesn't, and I quote "want to deal with the whelping" this time around, so she gave her to me. What should i do??

Yikes this is horrible, I have a problem with this breeder, why did she allow her to get pregnant if she didn't want to deal with the whelping? I think with someone like this, you can pretty much ignore anything she says, and she might be lying about the previous successful litter. Glad you are taking her to the vet tomorrow, from my understanding the vet can spay her even though she is pregnant, and this sounds like the safest solution. You know she might even have been accidentally impregnated with a much bigger dog, since this breeder doesn't sound ethical, it's hard to know the truth.

What a crazy lady!!! She just pawned off her problems to you. I agree with Nancy. Your new tiny baby may be a first time mother and that "breeder" just said it would be ok so you could agree to take her. Nancy gave you great advice and from all the "oopsie, my baby is preggos" threads I've read, it is very possible to terminate her pregnancy. I have a feeling that around the time your new baby girl is due to whelp, this "breeder" will be coming around asking for a pup.

It is not only possible but highly advisable you have this girl spayed and soon.

Ok thank you guys! I am soo glad I found YT.com! It really has helped me alot! This little girl is soo tiny I am not even sure she is 3 pounds. She fits in my boyfriends hands... And she feels cold... She is eating and playing, but she is very shy around people, and it makes my heart hurt. My Boston Terrier, who is 6, seems to think that the new girl is HER baby and keeps cleaning her and trying to nurse her! She is soo cute! (Marley, my BT had a still born litter due to her previous owner neglecting her. I regularly take in dogs that have been abused and nurse them back to health.)

Anyone have any good names for my new tiny addition to my family?? I am trying to think of one, but my mind is still more focused on her health...
