| Who pick out your pup name I was wondering if I was the only one who didn't get to pick the name of their yorkie pup. my first yorkie my son named Ichabob for the life of me I can't remember why there was a reason. My 2ed yorkie Wicket my husband name him the moment he laid eyes one him because he remind him of an Ewok from star wars. My thrid yorkie was suppose to be my moms, again my husband comes up with Ted D. Bear because he look like a bear cub. I did shorten it to Teddy, but since Teddy never went to live with my mom, my husband now calls him Ted D. Hubbie tells everyone that there mine little runts but I make sure they know he named those little runts.

| My husband named my female, Georgia (female dog version of Curious George ). And I named my male, Chewy (after Chewbacca and the fact he is a chewer). I almost named Chewy, Teddy B. because he looked like a teddy bear (just like you hehe) but then decided to go with Chewy. I am glad I got to name one of them at least!

| Ultimately my mom picked Kharmello's name. We had afew names pre-picked buy after meeting him we figured none of our names fit, so we came up with a new list. After awhile Kharmello kind of stayed but I will always call him Cody for short! |

| We had a family vote . So I guess I did name them , but not alone... I could of pulled veto power if I really wanted to My son came up with Sydney and we had about 4 more names , the family took a secret vote and Sydney won. Chloe was also named by family vote. I was stuck on Mia , Zoe/Chloe , Piper , Lily and a few others. I just couldn't decide...The boys really liked Chloe best and dh liked it too so I went with what everyone seemed to like. So we have a Sydney and a Chloe both names by us all

| When we adopted Barley he was already named by either the shelter or the adoption agency. I didn't care for the name at first and before getting him thought about changing it. But when I seen him in person and knew how bad his life had to have been I just couldn't change it. sounds stupid, but he was very obviously abused before making it to the shelter and since they gave him the name and it started him on his new life, I just couldn't change it. Then when we got Bijou I asked my daughter to think of a girly name that would flow well with Barley's. She came up with Bijou right away and within ten minutes of having her with us she was named. That's the fastest we've ever named a pet LOL Normally it takes days for us all to agree on one It interesting to hear how everyone came up with their name choices! Cool thread! Thanks for sharing!!!

| Picking My Yprkie Names My husband has named all 3 of ours. Our first one he surprised me on Valentine's Day saying he was taking me to pick out an orchid. So of course she had to be named Orchid. The second he named Cactus Jake (a female) and our latest Elf (a male). At first the names all sound a bit weird but eventually seem to fit. Interesting thread - glad someone started it. |

| I kept the name the breeder picked for him. She named him Chase, and we couldn't have picked a more fitting name. He loves chasing us, and we are always chasing him (he's a very busy boy ). |

| My 16 year old son wanted to name (MY mothers day gift) our first female Roxy, but it sounded wrong, so I got to name her Princess Contessa- (Tessie). She has an attitude to match. He named the 2 boys Calvin and Hobbes after his favorite comic strip. They are brothers but 6 months apart. My husband didn't care because he has nick names for them anyway.

| I usu pick out a name before getting the puppy. I picked Gypsy cause I always wanted a long hair dog named Gypsy. I made hubby promise not to give her one of his nicknames. For example he calls or Boston terrier who is named Sophie, Stomp cause she stomps around.
