When we adopted Barley he was already named by either the shelter or the adoption agency. I didn't care for the name at first and before getting him thought about changing it. But when I seen him in person and knew how bad his life had to have been I just couldn't change it.
sounds stupid, but he was very obviously abused before making it to the shelter and since they gave him the name and it started him on his new life, I just couldn't change it.
Then when we got Bijou I asked my daughter to think of a girly name that would flow well with Barley's. She came up with Bijou right away and within ten minutes of having her with us she was named. That's the fastest we've ever named a pet LOL Normally it takes days for us all to agree on one
