| Please Help =( http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/cus...19206986_2.gif Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Biloxi, MS USA Posts: 28 Please Help =( Tonight I was watching Bella and Rocco play, and in the midst of chasing Bella, Rocco smashed his left side into the door frame to our bedroom. He immediately yelped out in pain, and limped to me I'm most likely exaggerating, but when I felt on his upper left front leg it felt so loose, like it had been knocked out of his socket!! (yes, probably exaggerating; he wold probably be in much more pain). As it is, he is limping and seems that he cannot put much weight/pressure on that leg. I'm just so worried, as much as Bella's bumped into stuff she's never cried out in pain the way Rocco did. *knock on wood* The sound of it broke my heart. Currently don't have a vehicle, as my husband works nights and is away at work now. Is there anything i can do for my little guy?? he seems alright now, aside from the limping, but i can't just sit here in worry! __________________

| He needs to be seen by a vet asap. Only a vet can evaluate what is wrong. He may need to take xrays. Good luck to you. I'm so sorry that happened.

| One of my rescues back leg had been kicked out of the socket...the dog was found wanding around and sent to animal control. He was in there for 3 days before he got rescued from there. When he was taken to the vet is when we found out his leg was completely out of the socket and he never let on. Dogs will hide their pain if they are in survivor mode so please take your little one to be on the safe side to the vet. He might have just hurt the tissue but only a qualified vet could tell you what is really going on.

| Try to contact a friend, neighbor or use public transportation to take him to a vet. He needs to be seen right away. Waiting could make it worse. Sorry I don't live closer but good luck and please update us.

| How is your little one? Were you able to take him to vet? Hope that he is doing okay.

| Thanks everyone! Apparently i must have overreacted. Rocco was limping around for awhile, but otherwise seemed alright. He didn't cry anymore afterwards, and wasn't acting strangely. I had lay down in his little play pen and just made him rest and kept him warm with his bed and blankie. By today he was perfectly fine, only time he limped was late in the evening when he and Bella had been playing for 20 minutes or so, so i immediately brought him back to his little area to rest and he's been there ever since. I'm sorry to have caused alarm, but in the Sick/Injured forum i was advised that if he had truly broken anything he would have been crying much much more. I believe it was just the sound of him being in pain that sent me into a panic. I will continue to keep an eye on him and have the vet look at him on Friday. Thank you all for your replies!

| Good. He could still have an injury even if there is no break. It's just always best to seek a vet opinion. Let us know what your vet says, ok?
