| Dog Insurance Question I had to bring my friend's Shih Zu today to Animal Hospital. She is admitted to the hospital. It costed 1200 dollars. Then I started wondering about dog insurance. I would like to get a yorkie one day, but I think I would have hard time paying 1200 if the dog ever gets sick.. How much do you pay monthly for the insurance and does it cover good for your yorkie? I am checking different sites and getting quotes but I thought I should ask you all. |

| I think it depends on the company, there are a lot of good ones, but you have to beware, there are some bad ones too. We didn't get it for our babies, we have a credit card to use just for them if something was to happen. ( I hope to NEVER use it)

| My only experience with pet insurance was about 7 years ago. It idn't cover anything except accidents really. Nothing genetic or contagious was covered and of course no vaccinations. I let it drop fairly soon after I got it.

| There is VPI pet insurance. You can look it up at petinsurance.com. There are different plans available and I believe you can buy the whole package for $300 per year.
