Anyone own just one yorkie? Just a simple question. Are you content with just the one? If so whats the best thing about it. |
I can see why Yorkies can be so addictive but yes, I am content with one. |
You mean having one is possible! LOL JK :D |
Just one here. Since she goes almost everywhere I go, it is wonderful.:) |
i have just one...right now that is lol . im waiting till rex gets older then ill talk my mom into letting me get a sister for him. but i love everything about him from the way he eats to the way he plays all the little noises he makes i just love my baby boy :D |
I had just one for 15 1/2 years. He passed away in December and now I have none. I am sad!! We are planning to get another in a few months. Can't wait! But, we will still just have one. |
We only have one and will keep it that way :) |
Just the one:)...I must admit I've thought about getting another, but honestly, and this may sound weird, but I just can't imagine being able to love another one the way I love Harley. I probably could, but it's so fun to spoil her....I can do more with just one and she doesn't have to compete for attention...except when it comes to my husabnd :p |

That is the same reason I will have just one...to be my little travel buddy! |

I got my second yorkie when my residence changed and I was not able to go home on my lunch break. I used to bring Lola everywhere before Lia and I truly miss that. When I can, I will take both out with me but 2 can be difficult. I'm so glad they have each other for company when I'm at work. I was actually thinking of getting a third~ Yorkies are addicting......I love them!!!! |

I envy you. That was my thought too but Bud got tooooooooo big to go anywhere but the pet store with me and of course family homes. |
I have one...and I think how it would be nice to have one more...but I can’t imagine loving another one like I love my little Rafa. Plus, he’s a lot of work ...I’m always chasing him around like crazy...I couldn’t imagine chasing after two!!! I love having one right now and giving him all my attention and love....but who knows I wouldn’t be surprised if number two is around the corner! :D |
I had always owned two until four years ago when I lost one to heart disease. I now have one who is her son and circumstances won't allow me to get another. Sam will be last for a very long time:( IMO there are advantages to having both one and more than one. When you have more than one, they have company of their own kind, they play more and I guess life is generally more interesting for them. Owning just one, I think they tend to bond even more with you and they also are alot quieter and calmer in general. They of course absolutely LOVE the attention they have of being the only one but miss the companionship etc. For those who think they won't love another the same way as they do the one they already have:D Believe me you will. :) |

That would be my dream come true. Thank goodness I only work four days a week, especially since I am now going to be working still for a while. I'm looking into putting her in day care, twice a week and have set my condo up for her big arrival. I'll be home with her for the first 9 days, then we will have to adjust to me at work and the day care on Tues/Thurs. We will also be taking a vacation in June together. I am still trying to decide where we should go. So far San Francisco is my #1 choice. |
Yes one is plenty! I love Zeus more than ever and have crazy moments where I think I want another. Then I get rational and think with one I can spoil him and afford his vet bills if they arise but two would be difficult to afford and spoil. Besides Zeus is so laid back and calm I am afraid of getting a hyperactive Yorkie. |
I owned just one...for a very short time. |
We have just one, & I love it that way. We take her with us alot when we can. She's got some really good habits. Another one might change the chemistry & I'm not willing to go there. Have had multiple pets before, and I'm thrilled with just one. Having said that, I do weaken at the sight of another, but am determined not to mess with a good thing. Even dh weakened a couple weeks ago when we ran into a woman who had just gotten a new yorkie pup. I think I convinced him of all the good reasons to have just one. I hope! |
Yes, I am content with owning just one Yorkie. I love the way my Yorkie showers me with love. I love lavishing all my attention on my Yorkie and Shih Tzu. :) |
I have one Yorkie and I really would love another one. We also have a jack-a-poo who is 6 and has cost us a lot of money due to coming from a puppy mill which when my daughter got her we had no clue that pet stores were a bad place to buy a dog. So my husband says 2 dogs is enough.......I say for now;) |
Not me I have 3 and they are the best of buddies....they have each other while we are gone...don't want them to be bummed because we have to work. LOL! |
I have just one yorkie but am SO tempted to get another because I just love my little Bella girl. But since I have six other dogs (two lhasa's, two labs, and two chows), I think I will just stick with the seven I have. BTW they are all rescues except one of the labs.:animal36:aimeeyork:animal-pa |
i just have one yorkie and the good thing about having just one is that we are really bonded and we are inseparable. i am getting another dog soon though, so we will see how it goes. (i will still only have one yorkie, i am getting a maltese):D |
It's just me & Jackson right now. I've toyed with the idea of getting another one since, well... since I got him. But yes, I'm content with just one. I share a really strong bond with Jackson, he goes nearly everywhere with me that he can (family members homes, vacations, etc) We do trick training together and really enjoy ourselves. He gets to be with other dogs all the time (we go to the dog park 1-3x a week minus this cold weather we've been having) plus visits my dad's house once a week with their 2 dogs, etc. Also, he's honestly a really well behaved dog in general (most of the time of course) and really has no major behavioral issues and I worry that my next dog will be more than I can handle or am used to. And while I'd love to have another one (and probably will in the future) for right now, I've decided I'm content with just one. Whenever I consider a 2nd, I think about all the things that me & Jackson do together now and how that would altered by adding another one and then I change my mind. He's my little buddy. |
Only One I only have one, Rocky, who is now 13. I lost my poodle about a year ago and since then, Rocky has been alone. I tried a poodle puppy after my poodle died, but Rocky was beside himself and I thought he was going to kill her. I had to take her back. As much as I would like I second dog again, he is sometimes so nasty to other dogs that I'm not sure it would work. I recently bought him a little furry squeak toy and it seems to have given him a new lease on life. He carries it in his mouth everywhere. Guess a toy works better than a real live dog! |
1 Attachment(s) Just one here... I love her so much!! Maybe once we retire we might get another for her. this picture was taken yesterday :D Makes me smile every Day.. :) |

Do I own 1 Yorkie? No Best thing about owning 1? Getting more!:D |
I only have one, but my mom has 4 and I've grown up around yorkies all my life, so i'm used to being around multiples. As far as my little one goes, she's my world and i couldn't imagine giving my love and attention to anyone but her and her big kitty sister. :) |
I only have one, If I leave my place, Bailey goes with me, I never leave him home alone, so it is easy with just one. I do have to say that I take him over to my BF's almost daily and he loves playing with his two dogs, I would love to have another yorkie..some day! |
