If you go to San Francisco ........ consider going to Carmel also. (If possible ) city is called the most dog friendly city in California. They have a dog friendly beach & hotels. You can take your baby with you to most places. We ate at a restaurant that lets you take your baby on the patio for dinner also. We were very pleased by how nice they all were. |
I just have one, and I love it. He is my travel buddy!! I give alllll my attention to him and he LOVES that! I think some yorkies like to be the "only one" |
wow what wonderful responses. you see the reason I asked the question was that DH has said that if you want another get one. Tia is 18 mths old and my world. although she has lots of play friends I work part time and dont want her to be lonely.I agree with all the reasons you guys have given but my top two would be great travel buddy and such a laid back little girl and I don't want to upset the chemistry. Oh well , time will tell lol:rolleyes: |

I have just the one and I am perfectly content with that. :) Roxie can be high maintenance sometimes, so I don't think I would be able to handle more than one. |

same here:D-------and im not sure maddie would share me with another one, She has a hard enough time sharing me with my husband. Its fun with just 1. |
Just one Yorkie, Sophie Kate. I am fine with her being the only one since before she came into our life we never had owned a dog (as an adult, growing up I had a dog). I am still learning about all the fun of being a dog owner. Like others have said she is my buddy and goes most places with me. |
you know, they are addictive and to tell the truth before I was given Holly I kinda thought yorkie owners were snooty. lol I know thats awful but at least I am honest. ;) Quote:

friscomom: Would you consider putting this in a new thread. I think it is a wonderful topic for my only child. By the way, I bought an "Only Child" tank for him last year and it was just the cutest. We think about a second but always decide against it for many of the reasons others have posted. ;) |

We have just one, our first Yorkie. Missy is 4 months old. I had to talk my husband into the idea of getting a yorkie. Now I have to compete with him for her attention. When I got her she was "my" dog now she is "our" dog. I am waiting for the day HE says "MY" dog then I will have to get another one for "ME"! But for now we are both very happy with our little girl. She has brought us more enjoyment then we ever imagained. |
I have just one and for now i am content w/ that. Within the next year i will have another though b/c my sister just got a new male & female yorkie and i get a pup from the liter. I'm so excited to meet them. The best thing about just having one is that all my attention goes to her. She's #1 and she likes it that way. Ella doesn't like other dogs, she's scared of them. When i do get another i really hope it'll work out. =] |
Agreed, i can't imagine ever loving another like i love Ella, or as much as i love her! It doesn't sound weird at all. =] Quote:

I have just on lil furbaby Timba and I love this lil guy to death do us part.... He gets the most attention from me all day and nite... I would love to get another one ,, but then I have to divide my love for two.... we sleep. eat and do everything together .. he is my life.. I live for him...;) |
Sandy is our one and only. He's a very socialised. We thought of getting him a playmate but decided to do that only when he's more than 1 1/2 years old as recommended by our breeder. To be honest, I don't think I'd be able to share my love with another dog. Sandy is exactly I've always wanted and he's very special to me :) |
I have only miss muffie, i got another one when miss muffie was about 8 mts old and i had to find him another home after about 3 wks. muffie was so mean to him if he walked in the room she would charge at him like a mad dog she would drag him around like a old sock i did every thing to keep her from being so mean to him but it did"nt work so i did what was best for him,he was so sweet ,so thats why i only have one but i want another one so bad but im scared miss muffie DON't |

I have two, but both should have been "only yorkies"...because of their constant competition for attention....It just seems that one is not enough tho...:) |
I have one, but my daughter has been staying with me - with her yorkie - and I must say one is easier. I like to take Willow with me wherever I go and two are much harder to keep track of. And when I am knitting in the evenings she snuggles in my lap where there is just enough room for her. It's just so easy with one - I'm going to keep it that way. |
Isn't one enough? |
I am content with one. I thought about another one but when I think about house training another one I quickly forget it! I can care well for one. More than one would be a stretch on the budget! |
We had one... Roxie for several years then my hubby found Ryder and we rescued him and it was the best thing we have ever done! Roxie is my lover girl and I never thought I would love another like I love her but Ryder is the perfect fit in our family. He needed us and I think Roxie needed him there was no awkward adjustment it just worked... Roxie stopped having anxiety when we were gone and loves Ryder! We added Prince this fall and I was worried that he would mess up our two but he also found his place and I wouldnt have it any other way! |
Well, I thought I was one of the few that only had one, I guess there are more of us than I thought. I sometimes think of getting another, but more as a pet for Joey, than for me. My two grown sons have dogs that come over weekly and visit with Joey, so he gets some playtime with other dogs. One of the things, I enjoy most with Joey is our training time, and its hard to do that when other dogs are around. I know if I weren't at home as much, I would want another dog for Joey. :D |
