| my dog has Vaginitis The other day I made a thread about being worried about my dog. She had this white creamy discharge coming out of her no no spot. I was nasty. I thought it was just do to her getting her first heat but boy was I wrong. I wanted to just wait a couple more days before I went to the vet because I felt I wanted to be sure before the vet just tells me what I thought it was all along ,and spend money for nothing. But on friday after I came home from work and It was worse. I had given her a bath the day before and she was a mess again. She seem fine but her no no spot wasnt. So first thing in the morning I took her to the vet and he told me she had vaginitis. He gave her a shot and some med and told me it should get rid of it. But since she is soon to be getting her first heat it may go away after it. its just gross i feel so bad feeling that way about her. I know shes clean i gave her a bath but im scared i can get it. i should have asked. I think im going to have to buy her dipers |

| So sorry! I'd be suprised if you could get it though! You might want to try using the little bloomers they wear when they are in heat until it's gone. They sell them at petsmart and Petco

| I'm not sure that wearing diapers would be a good idea since infections like that should be allowed to "breathe" as much as possible. I hope your little girl gets better soon. I am dealing with a similar situation with Stewie.

| Yikes! Sure hope it goes away SOON! If you have any question for your vet, go ahead and call him. It pertains to why you took her there so he will take the call. |

| i just bought her a bloomer at the pet shop on my lunch break. I was thinking that before i go to bed at night ill clean her up down there and then put it on for the night so she can still sleep with me. I cant sleep without her. then in the morning ill just take it off while im at work so it can air out and Hopefully it will go away soon. I figured it would be better to have something on it so that its protected for more bactria. |

| I never knew dogs could get vaginitis. do you know how she got it? also you should let that area air out as much as possible, thats what humans should do especially at night. To clean, I would just use some baby wipes(unscented) so that she doesn't clean it her self. I am thinking that it might be able to spread on her, sort of like a yeast infection can. JMO though, good luck and I hope she gets better real soon!!

| i don't think you could get it. Vaginitis is just the inflammation of the vagina. it shouldn't be something to over worry about. |
