| Oh how cute!!!! Bad breath, he might have to see the dentist. Yorkies come in ALL sizes. It may take time to become friends, but I sure they will. Good Luck!!!! Keep us posted!

| My guy is about 8.5 pounds and since my other 3 dogs between are 30-40 pounds, that still seems small to me! Don't worry if they do a little fussing at first. They just have to establish their pack order and set their boundries. Once they figure that out they'll be fine. Just keep an eye on them first (especially the little one!) until you're sure how they are together. Before you know it you'll have one big happy family! The bad breath isn't usual. Sounds like it might be dental problems... You might try to do a search through the older threads here. I'm sure you'll find some good advice.

| Ah! That's not huge. Muffin was bigger and still fit in my lap and my arms! Kacee is bigger, too. I like them this size, because they are usually healthier and don't get hurt as easily. I'm so glad he's found a home with you. Perhaps he was never fully house trained at his other home. Do you know his history? I can't wait to see pictures of him. Good luck!

| ![]() Congratulations on your new puppy. My puppy,Coco is 8 months old, 3lbs5ozs of happiness. Coco is "pee pad" trained and goes outdoor. She goes to my real estate company every day and so far she always had hit the pad. She stays in my office and does not have the run of the place. I am sure if she was allowed the run of the place, she would have accidents. At home she is put in a playpen when I am not watching her. This keeps her out of trouble and safe. Or so I thought. A word on a playpen for your dog. One day about a month ago I had put her in the playpen and when to the kitchen. When I turned around, who was at my feet? A tiny little dog, I thought that I must be losing it, thinking that I had put her in the pen and then not doing it. So I put her in the playpen. A few minutes later there she was again. This really blew me away. So I put her in the pen and watched her. She jumped in the corner of the playpen and caught the edge with her armpits. She then pulled her self up and jumped out. I am thinking of putting her in the circus but in the mean-time I made a top with netting so that she will not hurt herself. It is all about watching and protecting them from themselves. And outsmarting them to doing things our way. After all they are little animals and we are their humans. |

| I called Ozzi's previous Vet's office. It was nice because the other owners left the paperwork with him. They said that the past owners bought Ozzi from a breeder when he was 5 months. This little baby must have been abused or something. He will hide and is very shy. He was really afraid of my husband. Almost like he is skidish. But I am sure with a lot of love and spoiling he will be fine. They also said the other owners had trouble with their toddler being rough with Ozzi. I know it will take a full month to see what type of personality her really has. The other problem is he won't potty outside or do anything. Our little Dolce is doing pretty well. I am taking Ozzi to the Vet today at 4:30p. His breath is bad...lol I will keep you posted. |

| This is where lots of patience comes in. I do hope things work out. I hope the dentist can take care of the breath problem! Keep us updated. He sounds like a loving challenge.

| As far as the bad breath.... it's either the food he's been eating... OR.... have his teeth cleaned real well by your vet... could be a gum infection. Best of luck with your new addition!!

| I know people with full breed yorkies between 10-20 lbs.I guess they come in all sizes. As for my Neo he is about 6 lbs though i haven't weighed him in awhile but i dont think that he got any bigger. Some people like them really small like 2-4 lbs myself i think that Neo being 6-7 lbs is healther and if he gets sick i think would have a better chance at getting better sooner. | We just got back from taking Ozzi to the Vet. He got a clean bill of health even his teeth. So he said the bad breath is ok. He said just to monitor his behavior. Plus give it time for him to adjust. Ozzi is just a sweetie. I will get some photos posted soon. We are going to change his name. The original owner had named him "Ozzy". So any good Italian names let me know.... |

| Im glad he is healthy. maybe he is not your so called lapdog because he might be mixed with something else. 7.5 lbs is not huge at all. I am glad he found you to be his new family. I think he snaps at your son because the toddler at the previous homw was not good with him. I have toddlers in my home and I am constantly watching them around the dogs just because they donnot know when they are getting to rough. He probably got tired of being picked and prodded and maybe they didnt do to good of a job supervising the baby around the dog so he started to bite. He may be scared of your husband because the father of the son might have hit him for biting his son, in some people that is their natural reaction, or maybe that is how he wanted to dicipline the dog. Who knows, but it will probably be a long time till he gets comfortable in his new home, just dont give up on him, his other family did and it would be terrible for him if it happened again. Good luck!

| You are so right. I changed "Ozzi's Name to "Roman". He is fitting in really well. He loves sleeping in bed with us. Even little Dolce is getting used to him. So far so good. We got him Sunday and today is the first time I saw him go potty outside. I praised him and gave him kisses. I think he will adjust just fine. It is nice that Dolce also has a playmate now. Right now they are playing at around my feet. Although Dolce is trying to bite. I can tell Roman gets irritated. So I am going to have to watch them for awhile. I put Dolce in the bathroom because he wouldn't stop biting Roman. Then maybe he will understand it's not ok. He is so tiny compared to Roman. Thanks again
