Bella?

I used to love the name Bella, but I can't stand it since those God awful Twilight books came out.

Ha! I've never read a Twilight book, and I plan on keeping it this way! Didn't know there was a "Bella" character.

My ex-BF, who is a pediatric surgeon, said he saw a HUGE rise in male patients named "Aiden" after the Sex and the City character. (I had to fill him in on this bit of trivia - though we're both pretty out of touch w/pop culture

I think its a pretty name ( and I'm sure Twilight helped with the popularity) I have a Chloe and I have noticed alot of them also.

I think it's really creepy to name your child after a character you find 'hot.'

I know some psycho who named her twins Bella and Edward.

W had a mini Aussie. Her name was Bella when we got her so we add a bit as 2 people from work had Bella's.

Bella Mia Amora..... Mia for short.

Real life Bella and Edward are twins. In those awful squirm in my seat with embarrassment for my gender books, they're sparkling vampire lovers.

I really liked Bella but I wanted something a little less common. We have three Bella's on our street!!

Bella is a nice name but I named my first one Kalina, because it's different and beautiful IMO. Then came Matilda - she was named after my mom. The little one is Gidget, which is not as unusual as Kalina but my DH likes it.

Is your dog named after Walt Disney? Just wondering what would make a person name their dog after him? To each their own, I guess.

BTW - my girl is named MIA and I didn't consider who else had named their dog that before I gave it to her.

And I am a HUGE fan of Twilight - yes, you heard me - the film about sparkling vampires. I'm going to assume that you haven't read it or you would know that it is more of a "love story" than a "vampire" movie.

I'm amazed that someone who uses Disney as a sign-on and names their dog Walt doesn't enjoy "fantasy" as that is what Walt Disney based his entire legacy on. Wasn't Tinkerbell a fairy?

I would also venture to say that you don't like Harry Potter, Star Trek, Star Wars, or Lord of the Rings - right? All fiction, fantasy, and Pop Culture.

And I find it very rude that people come on here with a limited amount of posting and find it necessary to criticize other members over the silliest things. Don't you have some other way of contributing to this forum?

I thought the same thing about the name 'Disney' and find it pretty creepy to say that it's creepy to name a pet after someone/something that you enjoy ....let's see - your user name is Disney - your pet is named WALT. Do you see where I'm going with this ?

Hell - Years ago I named my cat 'Magnum' after Tom Selleck when he had his show 'Magnum'.

My reasoning was - that was the only way I'd get to sleep with Magnum ....not creepy at all - just amusing ....I STILL THINK TOM SELLECK IS HOT....

and Disney - to call people psycho just because they enjoyed choosing cute names is just mean. Have you ever looked up the word 'psycho' ?

To add to my above post and to be even more annoying to you Disney - I named my oldest 'Chanel' after Coco Chanel because I think perfume is SEXY and she was a pioneer in the industry -

She named her kids after Edward and Bella...Not her dogs. I certainly don't think it's creepy to name your dog Edward or Bella, I just think it's over used. I said she named her CHILDREN EDWARD AND BELLA. If you don't see that as horribly messed up..Well each to their own. I know this woman. She is a psycho-just trust me.

Apologies for anyone who thought I was ragging on all the little Bella cuties, Bella is a very cute name I just can't stand it because I detest that 'saga.'

I love Harry Potter, Star wars, Lord of the Rings and quite a lot of other literature. I have read every single Twilight book and been forcibly dragged to both movies and I hate them. They're poorly written, there is no plot and it's down right sexist. That's just my opinion.

Quite frankly, you guys have attacked who I am as a person because I don't agree with giving your kids names that will have them teased endlessly and my choice in literature.

I'm negative, I'm judgmental. Don't you think it's hypocritical to call me judgmental when you are in fact, judging me on my personal opinions and preferences.
I'm not sitting here saying Twilight fans are stupid and people who name their pet Bella are creepy, so whats with the attack?

I really enjoy yorkie talk. I don't want to get in a fight over a misunderstanding of words and a stupid book series.

Edited to add: I am actually really wounded you all would get so vicious and mock me over this. I don't really know what to say as I'm quite shocked at the reaction my opinions on children's names and a book series are.
