| Then other names! So Bambi when she joined our family was already called Bambi! Much to my demise cuz she already looks like a Hyena! I love her though because she has been a FAITHFUL companion to my mother-My mom has diabetis and when mom is not doing well Bambi lets us all know; That is what sealed the deal with her. Lucky was called Lucky becuase he was a lucky pup! Bambi is his mother and when we homed him, his prior owners mothers developed an allergic reaction to him. She wanted to place him in a shelter worse a kill kennel in NYC and my sister went out of her way to save him! That is why he is called Lucky! He does exhibit much if his Schnauzer self (excessive barking) but becuase he loves my sister so and overall he is a good dog a working dog; we LOVE him. I do have a canary called Gizmo becanuse he sounds like him when he sings! The only "Pure bred" dog is my Hugo V.F.O. but he is so sweet he gets along with all of them~I am asthmatic and when I am suffering an attack, Hugo does not leave my side until I am better-Gotta love him! |

| Usually I always wanted to keep my new furbaby a few days/weeks and thought a name would come to me. With Sophie, we were just not getting inspiration. Everything I liked, my husband didn't and vice versus. So, we pulled out my husband's book of his family tree. We went through lots of names, including "Mourning Alabama" before settling on Sophie. Yes, he really had a great aunt named Mourning Alabama. Jacie came with his name, but it was derived from his dad was Jessie and his mom was Gracie, so......Jacie.

| The first yorkie was from my boyfriend as a gift because I was OBSESSED with yorkies. Our first date, my boyfriend took me to Carmel beach and I thought the name was just as beautiful as the beach itself. I told him that if we ever get a dog, I am going to name it Carmel for boy and Carmela for girl. The first puppy was a boy so we named him Carmel. Then, I couldn't help but convince him to get another one and this time we split the cost. We didn't name her Carmela because they won't know the difference. Thus, I decided to name her Emma because we LOVE the TV show FRIENDS and Rachel's daughter was Emma so we took the name. So now we have Carmel and Emma =) We love them dearly. I am now contemplating about getting a female shihtzu after 6 months...it will be fun to name her! |

| We went all over the internet looking for names for Chip and for some reason, Chip just became his name. What was funny was a couple months ago I was looking through a bunch of really old notebooks of mine that I'd been hanging onto for whatever reason and I found a list of male and female names for the two hamsters that I brought home and Chip was on the male list. Smokey came to us with his name. The poor thing had been through soooo much with switching homes 5 times and had already had his name changed once, that I didn't want to change something else on him again. It's not particularly my favorite name, but it works for him. His original name from his first owners was Coby.

| My husband decided that all of our (mine and his, not the children) dogs name would begin with the letter "K". 1st yorkie - Sergeant Major Koltrane - My husband was in the Army for over 20 years, so I gave him a rank. My husband name him after his favorite jazz player Coltrane 2nd yorkie - Phancy Karmy - My son, 16 years old at the time, told me he wanted to name her "Phancy", I was amazed he was even interested so I agreed. I gave her the name Karmy, in keeping with the Army theme I put a K in front of Army. |

| Daisy's mommy was named Blossom (full name is Mississippi Magnolia Blossom) so we thought a flower name would be nice.

| Scarlett--named by her breeder and when we saw her, she was a Scarlett through and through. Her middle name is Rose--always loved the name as a kid---my husband knew several Rose's that were b**ches in high school--so, funny play on Rose....and then we have her suitcase of nicknames...furrbutt, monkeybutt, meep(the sound she makes when she thinks she might be left) and many more---she's the light of our life---so needs lots of names! |

| Nibbler Nibbler got his name from the cute little black alien in the animated series Futurama. We had initially made a list of names which were all unusual but then when we went to pick him up from the Breeders, she asked what we were calling him and we just said Nibbler! and it's perfect for him.
