Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() Anyone who sees a hawk should be careful ! They're predators and hunt....Not only can they fly off with small animals but just trying to grasp their prey with their sharp talons can kill I remember way back when, I was on a site where someone had her little yorkie carried off by a hawk just 10 feet away from her. There was nothing she could do ..I've never forgotten reading that. It was horrible. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | ![]() Yes very very scarey. I think by now most know to a very sharp eye on your little ones when outside. On lead is probably the safest. My hubby and I were swimming with our dogs (3) of them at a nearby conservation area. \not sure what kind of birds these were - but they were big! I saw them first at the end of the lake and they were gliding over the water. I'm watching and throwing the toys for our dogs and see them circling in closer. That's it for me .. we have 2 very large dogs plus our little Yorkie. I wade out further pick up little Razz and dry him off and put him in the car. Those dang birds immediately flew off and away once Razz was out of the water.! I told my husband they were hunting him.. Urgha.

| ![]() Amazing video! Thank you for sharing. After watching this, I feel comfortable admitting that I rarely allow poor Maximo off the leash even in our own backyard. We have an abundance of aggressive hawks, owls, and black vultures fighting for a limited food supply. They moved in when the neighboring 300 acres of dense woodland were cleared for development. Our squirrel population is almost extinct -- not that I miss the squirrels digging in my garden. ![]() |

| ![]() Pardon the multiple posts -- We have eagles too -- golden and bald eagles. Beautiful, but deadly. |

| ![]() Honestly I am an aminal lover but I do not like Hawks. One time I was at the dog park with Sophie Kate and there were Hawks circling, you should have seen all the small dog owners pick up their dogs and leave.

| ![]() Holy moly! That is amazing and scary. We have a couple of small hawks here in the area and some owls too. Jack is never far from me and always on a leash when I take him outside. Oh yea, we also have wild coyotes too. In the city!!!! ![]()

| ![]() There is something to be afraid of with Eagles, Hawks, and Owls. I've got two hawks living in my back yard so we're really careful with Reesie. But, watch that video again. It was staged. The eagle is sitting on the shoulder of a man in the very start of the video. They turned the fawn loose and then the Eagle. It was trained to do that. It would carry off a Yorkie very easily but that video makes me sick. Check this page out, third paragraph-- Golden Eagle |
