I have been wanting to get Jimi a sibling, but my boyfriend will only agree to get a new furbaby if we adopt from a shelter, not purchase from a breeder. I was just browsing petfinder.com and I noticed that the local humane society has a yorkie up for adoption!

I took one look at his pics and decided I HAD to go see him. The shelter is only 10 minutes from my house so I went to go visit him, and when I held him I immediately fell in love! His name is Danny, and he is such a little sweetie. He loves to be held and lick my face!

My boyfriend and I decided that we must put in an application for him, but another woman there was filling one out for him and a couple of other dogs, too.

I really really hope that my application is approved and we get to take him home. I can't stop thinking about his cute little face. Is there anything I can do to become more competitive in being chosen? They have a 4 day grace period on any application, and Jimi would have to go and meet him before they accept. (But I know Jimi will love him because he is so friendly and loves every dog he meets)

Sorry I don't have any advice, I've never adopted before, and Uni is my first dog. Good luck!

Oh my gosh....what a sweet little guy....just darling!! How in world could anyone give that little fellow up

. Sorry, I can't help you on how to get him....but I will keep my fingers crossed for you!! Maybe if you take your other guy to meet him before the grace time is up...they will see how much you really want him. Good Luck!! Keep up post....wishing....wishing.... for you!

Thanks for the positive thoughts!

And the woman at the shelter told me that he was a stray.. they found him stranded on the side of the road.. what a poor baby!

If I got him he would be sooo spoiled.. hehe.

Good luck on your adoption. I don't live that far from you. We always stop thru Sturtevant when I take the train to visit my relatives in IL. And my bf and I have been known to go for a late night run to the 24 hr Walmart.

I came across a Yorkie and Yorkie mix rescue group in Greendale on Adoptapet.com, I think it was.

No advice for you but YAY! So cute. Congrats (maybe!) I hope you get him. I'm pretty sure my next doggie will be from a shelter as well.

He's is a GORGEOUS boy.
And if there is a 4 day grace period i would go EVERYDAY!!! The more they see you the more they will know you care. I would think it would be positive on your end especially if that woman was filling out paperwork for more dogs

So you guys think I should just go everyday? I am totally up for that but I figured that could be annoying to them. In some circumstances it is good to follow up but some places think it is excessive.

Owell, I think I will end up going everyday just because I want to hold him again! Ugh I am getting so ansy, I just want to bring him home!
