| I think my female is pregnant. How to tell? I have never had a pregnant dog before so I don't know that signs. Can anybody help me. She just turned a year old and I didn't think my 6 month old male could get her pregnant but her nipples are no longer flat! Do I need to worry? Help! |

| At 6mo old could get her pregnant. She would have to be in heat though. Being in heat could also make her nipples change. My missy went into heat at 1yr old, her body changed and she even gained weight and acted like she was pregnant. It turns out she had a false pregnancy, she sure fooled me! I think the only way to tell is to watch her and see if she has any changes in her body. The vet should be able to tell at 4 weeks I think? Hopefully a breeder will see this and be of more help, you might want to post the question in the breeder section to be sure they see it

| 6 months old sure can, Was your baby in heat? I wouldn't worry, but I would get in touch with a breeder to let you know what will happen next. It's a lot of work having puppies. Call your vet to let them know whats going on. I'm sure you will get more feedback on this post tonight. Please keep us posted! Oh yea, Welcome to YT!!!

Did your dogs join and tie together? Do you know when she came into heat? They are like women, when they come into heat, their nipples do enlarge sometimes. | |

| I think my Ruby may be pregnant I should give you all a little more info. She is going to be 1 year on Oct 13th. She is only 2lbs 8oz. This was her 3rd heat! Gem, my male, is 4lbs. Gem was constantly on her! But, stupid me, didn't think anything of it cuz he is so young. Here are her symptoms - enlarged nipples, sleeping a lot, change in behavior (meaning she is just a little different). She has a vet appt next week for her booster and I'll talk to her vet then. Yes, I do know that she can't have the booster if she is pregnant. Thank you all for your help. Please keep it coming. |

| Oh I hope she is in heat and not pregnant. She is way too small to have babies.

| 2lbs? Why wasn't she spayed? Or your male fixed? She's WAY too small to be bred, especially to a male BIGGER than her |

| Talk to your vet...it's probably a high risk pregnancy due to her size, not to mention that he is bigger than her...i hope everything works out fine!!

| I am sure you know the risks of breeding such a tiny little one, I would recommend when you have her vet checked to terminate the pregancy, she is way way too tiny to breed. I wish you luck on your decision

| Ruby is doing awesome! I have 2 other dogs, a male yorkie (Gem) and a female lab puppy (Crystal). The lab is my son's dog and Ruby does not tolerate her very well and will actually snap at Crystal if Crystal is trying to get attention/loving from me. This is a new behavior on her part. It's kinda funny when a 3lb dog can scare off a 17lb dog! |
