| Ojanpera: You're doing a good thing by taking your baby to the vet. Something is wrong if she's been in heat three times and is not a year old yet. That's like a female having too many menstrual cycles in 28 days (to break it down in layman's terms). Not only that, but your male is too young to register the puppies (if they have papers). I'm not trying to scare you, just trying to share some information. Keep some pampers for your female if you don't intend on breeding her or separate her or the male in a kennel for about three weeks when she comes into heat. Females take (on the most part) 1 week to come into heat, 1 week of ovulation, and 1 week going out (can deviate a couple days at the beginning or end of the heat cycle for some bitches.)..A good rule of thumb is not to breed them until they are at least two years old and ready to be mothers, but sometimes things can happen..Good luck and I hope she's O.K....I also hope she's not pregnant... |
