I'm baffled that some people think that this is OK? It's illegal for a reason.

I am BEYOND disgusted by this thread. Low life people have been doing this forEVER...making money off the backs of little dogs.....so NOW we are going to blame a rough economy for their disgusting behavior???? Panhandle...wash windshields...anything..scrub some floors...but don't send poor defenseless animals out to hell which is where MANY of them are going to end up because a person breeding them did not give a DAMN about where they went to live. Only thing they thought of was MONEY. Give me a break.

I would sell my own body parts before I would sell a puppy on the street corner. But before the body parts thing, I would probably get a job at a fast food place, hotel house keeper, etc. There ARE always other options!

It is along the lines of a quote I also love, which has to do w/ personal ethics: "Character is who you are when no one is looking."

				 | I'm not defending the selling of puppies on the roadside. This is wrong. My point is, did anyone ask what led this person to do this to the puppies? Perhaps by listening you can learn about other people and maybe educate that person in the process. Saying that it's a disgusting practice selling puppies on the roadside is one thing, but doing something about it is another. And I don't think buying the puppies is the answer. As much as you want to save them, if you buy one, another one will take it's place and the cycle will continue. My point is to educate the source of the problem instead of complaining about it. |

I can't believe some of the opinions people have had on this thread.

How about laziness for one? Seriously. Do you really think that hard working, respectable people would do such a thing to a live being? These animals are God's creatures. And, trust me, I have stopped my car many times to try to "educate" people such at that woman only to be met with rude remarks. NOW, I simply call the police...case closed. I spend my LIFE educating people about animal abuse. Most of my waking day is doing such...and taking are of animals many of which tarted their lives out poorly because someone was too lazy to make an honest living and did not care where they ended up. My grandmother lost her husband and she raised five children during the Great Depression, holding on to her beloved 65 acre farm that is still in the family. She did what it took...laundry, ironing, alterations, bakiing, whatever she could to to raise money. She did not sell animals on the side of the road .. and she taught her children to love and respect animals as God's creations and their children taught theirs...and it has continued on to another generation since. People DO know there are options....they choose not to take them. People have been trying to educate the uneducable for years to no avail. It is illegal in most places to sell puppies. You think people don't know that? I think you are naive. Nothing wrong with wanting to see the good in people, but I don't know how much good you will find in a person who is selling dogs on the roadside.

				 | To say you would never do something to survive or allow you family to survive means you have never had to make those decisions. May God never allow you to fall on such hard times that you will be forced to eat your words. Because to say you would NEVER do such a thing is to throw a gauntlet down at the feet of fate. |

Wrong! I have fail on hard times, more than once. There is no gauntlet thrown. God is not fooled by what is hard times and what is using animals for a quick buck, or using people for that matter. Don't get confuse with who's affecting their fate. Faith, not fate, is important here. A lack of faith shows when one does unethical things during hard times. And seriously, who knows if these people selling puppies on the side of the road are going through hard times in the first place? Stop assuming it just because so many people are, in the country right now. The actual fate is sick puppies that die, or caused havoc on ignorant buyers lives, and THAT is what these people prey on. These puppies don't receive proper care and neither do their parents. I have seen so many news clips over the past few years about stories of people selling these puppies, which are sick and some end up dying. This has become a popular thing for puppymills and BYB's to do. It is not right no matter how hard your times are, no matter how you sugar coat it. It's wrong!
