| I know how you feel. We've had Lucy for two months and Ringo is still jealous of her when it comes to me. Now, most of their spats revolve around me; one is in my lap and the other wants up; one is in the bed and it makes the other mad. All was going well - but I think Lucy has decided that she should be the top dog and is not showing Ringo the respects that HE thinks he deserves. Although she defers to him in many ways; I note that she jumps in front of him when he's trying to drink or if I am handing out treats; she will just jump right in front of him. He does not like that too much. Also, any toy that he has; she wants. She's so annoying that he usually just ends up letting her have it . .. that's new. Used to, all the best toys were for HIM. On occasion, if she gets one of his bones, he will go over to her and just gently take it out of her mouth but even that - if it's just a crappy bone - he will let her keep it. I don't know. One minute all is well and the next minute I feel like we need a peace treaty! |

| Hi! I would like to say that I am also groing through the difficult period of having the second yorkie (female) and first yorkie (male) getting along well in all situations. At first he (10 months) would not allow her (8 weeks) to play with his toys. I find it a bit extravagant to have 2 different toys for each of them. He also gets very aggressive towards her when she goes near his food. But today, after she's been with us for 6 days, they are much better together and playing a lot, the only remaining problem being the food. I suppose there are easy ways to solve this. But what's been stressing me is her whinning to get out of the crate, especially at nights! I know we are not supposed to give in, but she is also not giving in at all. She cried for one whole hour the other day and she would have continued, had we not decided it was enough. Someone in this thread said she placed her dogs' crates facing each other and that might help Lucy (the 8 week puppie) feel better, maybe? I need to sleep ))))))))Here is my blog so youcan see pictures of them: www.myyorkiebackyard.blogspot.com Anybody else here with yorkie blogs?? Rosaly |

| This is all too funny. Teddy and Bitsy co-exist pretty nicely with Teddy being the boss and Bitsy beings submissive in her temperment. They seem to find the pecking order eventually.

| I'm sure with time, they'll get along just fine. When we brought Jacie home (he was an adult already), Sophie took to him immediately, he did however have to adjust to her as well as his new home. That took him at least a month, but now they get along great.

| Is there a better age at which to get the second puppy? We have a 9 month old female Yorkie and was considering getting another female puppy. |
