| I always call my two the girls. I have two sons age 15 and 6 so when I talk about the girls, everyone seems to know. If someone has a problem with that.... well... that's their problem. |

| We get this all the time. We dont have skinkids and we love our furs just like they are children. Our friends and family understand but those who dont know us think we are insane

| I wanted to speak from the "alternate" perspective for a second. Before I had a dog...let alone a Yorkie, I never understood how people could invest so much emotion in a silly pet. When we got our dog, I understood 100%. People that don't have a dog will never understand the value. People that have big dogs will never understand the joy of a Yorkie. For example, I was spending the weekend at a friend's house a couple days ago. They had some beautiful Labs that were awesome! The female actually spent the night on my bed. I showed them a couple of videos on my phone of Buddy. The first thing I heard was..."that is not a dog". It is all about perspective. Screw 'em if they don't know. That is my opinion! |

| Our youngest boy That's what we call George, he is my baby and I don't give a toss what anyone else thinks, he's spoilt rotten by both of us and we love him to bits, he knows love and gives it back, don't worry about the weirdo's out there they have no idea what they're missing.

| My family used to think I was nuts referring to JoJo as "my baby". But recently my mom was noticing how attached he is to me and said "he's always gotta be with his mommy", so I think she's finally getting it lol. They are living, breathing creatures with a beating heart, just like us. They are no less worthy of our love than another human. I may not be a "mother" in the traditional sense, but in my heart I am a mother to my little guy. The people who put a smile on my face and make me feel really good about myself are those who tell me that based on how I treat and take care of JoJo, that I'll make a wonderful mother when I do have skin-kids. Comments like these far outweigh those negative comments about how weird I am treating him like he were a real baby.

| I also refer to mine as my babies, and yes I do get looked at funny and there have even been times when people have been down right rude to me. But like many of you I don't care. My husband refers to them as his children, which i personally think is sweet

| I so totaly agree with you!! I am so tired of hearing.. "Thats not a dog!"I could slug someone!! It is usually family or friends that know me that say it. Granted they are just joking with me, but the same joke over and over again gets REAL old real quick!! My sister has two labs, they are good dogs, but TOO BIG!! Don't get me wrong I LOVE dogs, (Well I love all kinds of animals,) My favorite are the little to the medium sized pooches. Quote:

| Awe I feel that same way too... My sister said one time recently to me.. "I wish that you would give me nephews that didn't have 4 legs and fur." I laughed and said, "I don't know if I should feel insulted or happy about that remark" She just smiled at me. I think she sees my boys as her nephews or else she wouldn't have said that. So I guess I can take that as a compliment lol. Quote:

| Awe that is very sweet!! My dad always says how he doesn't want to fuss over the boys, but when he thinks i am not looking I always catch him making a fuss over them. Moreso over Nicky then Rocky I think cause Nicky is only 5 pounds and a peanut. But he does give Rocky some lovin!!

| We always say, the "little lad" and call the other dogs in the family his "cousins" -- but it's a dog loving crowd. |

| We call Wookie "the baby." I mean he is a baby! A baby dog lol So when I leave for work I remind my boyfriend to not forget to give the baby his supplements Our friends know how much we love our animals. That lady needs to pull the stick out of her bum!

| lol! I have a 22yo son also. (Grant). I tell him to go home and visit his hairy brother or little brother meaning Gunnar. I named Gunnar to go with Grant. Family tradition. all the kids are named with the same letter...so yeah, Gunnar is my kid! Donna
