| Mine dont eat their poo now but they used to when they were little. They will both get in the litter box if you let them. I dont know why they do it but I agree it is gross.

| It's totally normal. Cat poo is more nutrient and protien packed than their dog-food. When a dog eats their OWN poo, it usually means that they have gone inside, know it's bad, and want to clean it up. Clean up the poo right away, and distract the dog so that they don't see YOU picking it up. Make it magically dissapear asap. As for cat poo, the best advice I have read so far is to put the littler box in a place that the cat can get to, that the dog can't. I've had my share of litter-mustache surprises, and had to get over the disgust and accept that this is simply something that dogs do. Don't bother trying to punish for this as the dog will be totally clueless as to why you think it's a big deal. To them it's jsut a tasty treat! Yum! |

| Cat pooh to dog's is like a doggy treat. I have no clue why but they love it. There is a powder that you sprinkle on the dog's food or cat's food whoever's pooh the dog is eating and it's called Forbid or something close to that. The powder makes the pooh taste terrible and therefore the dog will stop eating it. |

| If they eat it Since Pudgy likes to give so many kisses, what is the best way to get rid of the pooh breath/residue off his tounge. Is there doggy toothpaste, or mouthwash you can give him? Is human toothpaste bad for them?

| Piper hasn't ever eaten his poo and I don't think he's ever been in the litter boxes but our Boxer sure has. Our Vet said that the cat poo tastes good and is full of protein so we've had to turn the litter boxes around (we have the enclosed kind) so they face the wall and only the cats can squeeze through to get in them. TOTALLY GROSS when you think about it...hard to enjoy puppy kisses when you know where their mouth has been.

| Apparently eating their own poo is quite common. Chewy went thru a stage a couple of weeks ago...he just gobbled it up like a cracker. My son wanted to invite all his friends over to watch! The advice I got was to feed them a couple of small pieces of pineapple every day because that will make the poo undesireable for them - only dogs need to have poo made undesireable!!! - anyway, it worked and now I just feed him a little bit every other day and I've had no problems. I buy canned and rinse out all the crappy syrup and presto, little snacks. |

| I dont know why for some doggies eating poo is like a delicatesse, gross. Im just so happy that Gucci has never eat her poop. I have heard about the pineapple. I hope that works for you. Brushing our Yorkies teeth is a most and more if they eat poop. You can get the pet dental toothpaste at the pet store. Good luck. |
