It's totally normal. Cat poo is more nutrient and protien packed than their dog-food.

When a dog eats their OWN poo, it usually means that they have gone inside, know it's bad, and want to clean it up. Clean up the poo right away, and distract the dog so that they don't see YOU picking it up. Make it magically dissapear asap.

As for cat poo, the best advice I have read so far is to put the littler box in a place that the cat can get to, that the dog can't. I've had my share of litter-mustache surprises, and had to get over the disgust and accept that this is simply something that dogs do. Don't bother trying to punish for this as the dog will be totally clueless as to why you think it's a big deal. To them it's jsut a tasty treat! Yum!
