| Thanks for asking! She had a pretty good night. Slept on my lap most of the night. Then when we went to bed, she slept with us. She was fine till about 3:00 and she kept moving around, couldn't get comfortable. I finally put her little bed on the floor next to my side of the bed at about 4:30 and that did the trick. She slept till we got up. I felt bad having to leave her while we work but I put a onesie on her so she can't lick the incision and put her in her crate. She seemed a tad less painful this morning because she wagged her tail when I got out of bed. She's still definitely not herself. I gave her pain meds before I left for work. I'm hoping she'll just sleep till we get home. The sleep will be good for her. I was glad because she drank a lot of water last night and then ate a little of her kibble this morning. She didn't go potty this morning at all though other than when my husband took her out around 1:00 a.m. Hopefully she'll go as soon as my son gets home from school and takes her outside. It kills me to be away from her all day! I just want to snuggle her and be able to watch over her and make sure she's okay!

| Aw, I'm sure she will be fine. She will just probably sleep. The less action the better. Don't forget she hasn't eaten since the day before so maybe she just doesn't have to go. Give her time. Nice to hear that she is drinking alot. That is important. Dont worry, you gotta do what you gotta do. She'll be fine. Your son should be home soon anyway. Good luck!! Give her a hug from all of us!!

| Hi, now it's our turn to ask for prayers! Celia, our 2.6 lbs little girl was 6 mos old, November 19TH. She will be spayed tomorrow, Friday 27TH. My husband and I are very worried, we chose to change vets due to outrageous estimate for the surgery and teeth removal. Even changing vets, opting for using laser and Isoflorane, it will be around $600 or so. It seems that the additional charges (even fluids before and during surgery) certainly adds to the total. We needed to feel as comfortable as possible and are thankful that we can manage it. Just hope this will soon be over, we will both be home and had special permission to take her to the vet's when he is ready for her "trying to avoid any further anxiety and suffering for her" Think of us please! Thank you so much! |

I'm sure she'll be fine! Rio was just spayed last week, and she's exactly the same size - 2.6 lbs. She was fine and is now almost completely recovered. Her incision is almost healed (just dry scab now) - she didn't have external stitches, all internal that will dissolve. Now the challenge is trying to keep her from running and jumping for one more week. She's back to her energetic, fireball self! Let us know how it goes! | |

| Hello again to all of you! Celia is doing okay, not great (I guess need to be realistic, this is surgery). She was very awake on Friday at 6:30 PM when we were allowed to pick her up. We were so happy to hear her calling us the minute she heard our voices at the vet's reception area. She was moving back and forth in the cage and very excited to see us. We noticed that the floor of the cage was covered with baby blankets (not hers), under them they had heaters to keep her warm. (we were so happy to see this) At home, she drank very little water and ate very little strained chicken and crumbs of kibble. She is not moving much and looks very sad. "we were warned". There were 6 teeth removed. She has self dissolving internal stitches and glue on the external(incision). She looks very skinny because her belly was shaved as well as a portion of her front leg where the intravenous was. Today is Sunday, she is still very quiet, does not want to go outside to go to the washroom. She tries to resist having us pick her up. She does want to stay on my lap all the time. Thank you for your thoughts and postings, for now...we'll just have to go through this. We are thankful that she survived the surgery! Thank you very much! |
