I'm surprised to hear about her being to small to bring home =[ I've been watching her keeping an eye on her making sure shes not showing signs of low blood sugar. Shes eating really good, and drinking good. She does sleep alot. But she plays for like 30-40 min and then sleeps for about 30-40 min. I can not express how happy she makes me. Hi and welcome. Yes, generally speaking eight weeks is young. Usually, a breeder will not allow their Yorkie pups to go home before 10 weeks. It's good you are aware of the Hyper Glycemia issues with small Yorkies. It is a good idea to keep Nutrical on hand and what I do is give them a very tiny ribbon size in the morning and at night before they go to bed. Also, a few small meals a day rather then one big meal at night and I like to keep dry food and water available to them all the time. Are you using canned food, home cooking or just dry kibble. Some may or may not agree with me but I cook up boiled bonelss chicken breast, carrots and brown rice and I boil it in a big pot of water with just a tiny piece of chicken builion cube. After I chop it all up. I fee this at night to my adult Yorkies and for my pup, I mix this in with a little canned Wellness (Chicken and Sweet Potatoe). If she's eight weeks it may be hard for her to just eat dry kibble. As far as potty training. Yorkies are notoriousy stubborn and can take up to sometimes a year to potty train. I use the litter box with a wee wee pad in it. It helps with leaking through etc. Consitancy and praise is the best route. Good Luck with your little one. Elaine

Oh my gosh, she is so stinkin' cute in her little Xmas dress. Her name is Zoey? Love the name. I was considering that name for my new baby that arrives in Dec, but we decided on Dora instead.

I am giving her kibble. The same kind of the breeder was using. She told me to mix yogurt and cottage cheese like alternate it with her food. She also told me that I could put sugar in her water? On top of all that I have stuff to put on her food that I bought from Petland. Its like a syrup based really thick liquid that goes on her food. Of course I dont do all these. I have just been putting the stuff on her food that came from the pet store.

Yes her name is Zoey Bo......Bo comes from "Glenn Edward "Bo" Schembechler Jr. " the best all time Michigan football coach. We are wolverine fans hahah.

A little bit of plain yogurt or cottage cheese is good. Yorkies can get really bad teeth and I tend to think that the sugar in the water and the syrup on the food is a little too much for her. The nutrical, which is in a tube and is gel-like, given to her in the morning and at night should be plenty. You just squeeze a little out on your finger and rub it in her mouth - that way you know she got it. Also, you can start brushing her teeth with a dog toothpaste right away. Yorkies teeth can get bad and cause other health issues.

Oh, and please don't frequent Petland. It is the biggest supplier of puppymill dogs. By buying anything there you contribute to their monitary gain and continued business of puppymills. My Mia came from there.
