Shes eating really good, and drinking good. She does sleep alot. But she plays for like 30-40 min and then sleeps for about 30-40 min. I can not express how happy she makes me. I never thought that I would be this big of a dog lover. Now I am. Loving every min of it. Thank you for all the advice. I will keep you all updated on how everything is going.
Hi and welcome. Yes, generally speaking eight weeks is young. Usually, a breeder will not allow their Yorkie pups to go home before 10 weeks. It's good you are aware of the Hyper Glycemia issues with small Yorkies. It is a good idea to keep Nutrical on hand and what I do is give them a very tiny ribbon size in the morning and at night before they go to bed. Also, a few small meals a day rather then one big meal at night and I like to keep dry food and water available to them all the time. Are you using canned food, home cooking or just dry kibble. Some may or may not agree with me but I cook up boiled bonelss chicken breast, carrots and brown rice and I boil it in a big pot of water with just a tiny piece of chicken builion cube. After I chop it all up. I fee this at night to my adult Yorkies and for my pup, I mix this in with a little canned Wellness (Chicken and Sweet Potatoe). If she's eight weeks it may be hard for her to just eat dry kibble. As far as potty training. Yorkies are notoriousy stubborn and can take up to sometimes a year to potty train. I use the litter box with a wee wee pad in it. It helps with leaking through etc. Consitancy and praise is the best route. Good Luck with your little one. Elaine
