Hi, I feed Milo out of the Amaze a Ball I put his dry kibble meal in it and he loves it. It has a few benifits it has actually sped up his eating he used to take one piece walk away from the bowl lie down and chew the piece go back to the ball and repeat it was madning. Becasue the ball is also mental excersise it calms him down a bit. You can get it at many places but here is one link for you Amaze-a-Ball

Maybe it has something to do with the placement of the bowl too. When I take Maddie over to my parents house when I go there and visit and have to spend the night, she won't eat out of the bowl if it is on ceramic tile. Little booger!

My yorkie is now two and still wants to be fed by hand - he hates anything that looks like a bowl, then I started putting his food in a side plate that looks like our plates and he doesn't mind that - maybe they don't want to mess up their hair do....he he he They are just so cute, you can't help but want to spoil them!!

I would suggest opting for a food tray or a plate. Also at petco they have food mats. But that might be too low and get her used to eating from the floor. Anways I would try and see if you cant remedy this problem with a tray or plate or mat. If they dont work then maybe just ween her off your hand as she gets bigger. Good luck! =D

It's not necessarily a bad habit, as long as they'll still eat when they're hungry without you. Stella hates her bowl for everything except water (she likes to dip her head in her water, especially after I just brushed her...). I just use her actual bowl as food containment so I know how much of her day's food she's eaten. She uses either the IKEA small kids bowls (super cheap, practically disposable) or a paper plate/her food mat to actually eat off of. Even then, sometimes she still carries each piece of food off to chew it individually, so we have to keep her contained to the kitchen or I'll find crumbs and pieces stashed everywhere! Sometimes I still prompt her to eat by feeding a few pieces first out of my hand if I'm in a hurry, but in general, she'll eat when she's hungry on her own. Good luck with your baby!

| I wouldn't worry about it.I had to do this with Khloe and she eats out of her bowl now.I only had to do the hand feeding for a couple weeks.
