| What makes a Yorkie a one person dog? I've always wondered why a Yorkie tends to like just one person of the family. Is it wired in them? Is it a breed thing? Do they like just the person that feeds them? Or is condsidered the alpha person of the family? Just curious...

| Neither one of mine is a one person dog. They come and cuddle with both my Husband and me. We both treat them equally and dont favor one over the other. My Husband feeds them some canned food in the morning but I give treats. I bathe and brush them. Both of us play with them.

| Hmmm my Laci love me probally the most however I wouldnt consider her a 1 dog person , she loves everybody in the house!! She sits in the window and waits for my daughter to come home from school... and wont leave her alone the first hour she is home... When my oldest daughter is here she loves her too... and my middle daughter tends to sleep in she works evenings and Laci always jumps in bed with her late morning around 8.... so she basicly loves all of us!

| Our 3 aren't one person dogs. All 3 love me, DH and DH's son equally. They will all go to each of us equally. Although each of us do something 'special' with them, they know who to go to if they want something. I will let them in and out into the backyard a million times a day, so they know to come to me for that. I'm also the one who takes them bye-bye and they sleep with me. DH takes them for walks and will 'rough house' with them. They also know he's the soft touch when it comes to snacks. DH's son is home every day, going to school online. So they know they can go to him for companionship, scratches & play. I suspect they have their favorites, but they certainly don't show it.

| Okay...maybe I was wrong! All that I've read about the breed and from people who I know who have Yorkies have said they've had dogs who are mainly one person dogs. I know mine is. Maybe it's cause my husband likes to chase her and play more rough and the kids are all too young to really be a good companion yet. I sure wish she liked more people cause she sure is a skittish thing!

| I know Buster loves me more than DH. Buster would follow me out into traffic if I went. Maggie loves us equally, I think. I am the one that feeds them, I play with them, I do the training and tricks and best of all, I take them in the car!!! When I'm not there, they hang with DH but as soon as I walk in, we are joined at the hip. Love it!!

| Jackson loves everyone that he knows. People like my dad, brother, mom, stepdad, grandma, aunt, sister, etc, he loves all of them sooo much! I mean he knows I'm "his person" but when visit over my dad's house, he'd prefer to hang with my dad than me, LOL.

| My two have a favorite...that would be me but they play and love on everyone in the house. Even when we have visitors. And that is the weirdest thing, Tucket doesn't like anyone to leave either. He FREAKS! I have no idea why but it's funny. |

This so sounds like my Isla! Attached to me is an understatement. She does like to say good morning to 2 of my 4 kids, but the other 2 are too active for her. I do feel bad, though, when people want to pet her and she backs away and runs in between my legs. It is kinda nice that you know they love you so much that they don't want to leave your side!

| I think it just depends on the dog's individual personality... My dog is definitely a one-person dog, and favors me over my boyfriend (she just lives with the two of us). She is a shy dog naturally, and isn't a huge fan of strangers, or anyone she doesn't know touching her. I think her temperament has a lot to do with her favoritism of me, along with being raised by only two people, with me doing 90% of the work. I definitely think that dogs that are more "people-friendly" and outgoing, that seem to like everyone don't really become one-person-dogs as much as shy or more quiet dogs do. |
