| yorkie male or female --what should i choose I am looking at putting a deposit on a yorkie but I don't know if I want a male or a female. Can anyone help me out. Are females better or male. Any diffenrence I should know about? What does everyone else prefer when it comes to yorkies? The only thing I know is the females are usually more money. Not sure why. |

| I have only ever had 2 dogs and both were male. Chewy is very sweet and lovey and has been really easy to potty train. His only lapses in manners training have been because I spoil him! I'm sure you will get responses split right down the middle here. Are you able to see the pups and find out which you bond with? If not, I would talk to the breeder about the pup's personalities - that's what I did. Good luck and let us know which you choose. |

| Wow thats a hard question. theres a lot of people who like the males better and the other half like having a female better. Guess you better save up for one of each lol. I have two one male one female. They both are very loveable and I love each the same. But if I really had to pick, I think I would pick a female. |

| I don't think one is better than the other in any sense so if you're able to, like was said earlier, go and visit and see which one you fall in love with, and which one falls in love with you. Piper picked me, it was just him and his brother at the time (I was looking for a male), but if a girl would've picked me or I fell in love with a female the sex wouldn't of mattered. I have decided I need one of each so I will be getting my Yorkie girl since I have my little man. They have cool items out there for boys and girls so if dressing them up and doing their hair is an issue either sex will work. How exciting for you...a new baby in your future!! Good luck in whatever you decide!!

| If your wanting a pet a male is as loving as a female if you get them nutered at 4-6 months. My girl missy is laying here on the bed wqaiting to have her babies. . Harley has his pj's on laying right by meand Bobo is laying next to my leg sleeping. Bobo is roudy, Harley is laid back as all get out . I got both from same lady Fantasy Yorkies. Missy is quite till it comes to hunting squirrels or mice.lol. Missy and harley both love to dress up.

| It all really depends on each dog. My stud dog is really our most loving and is 100% attached at my hip. I cant even go to the bathroom without him wanting to go with me. LOL The ONLY time he really acts like the stud dog he is is when he has a girlfriend over or one of our girls are in heat. Other than that he is my baby!

| If your not sure , I would go see a litter, and pick the one who steals your heart. Be careful, you might end up with one of each! Both Male & Female are so cute, I could never decide. Lucy me, Princess was one of one, She forever has my heart! Good luck, let us know!

| We have 2 feminine females 2 yrs apart, same parents.... The oldest picked us and the second one was the smallest of the litter so we chose her and her sister takes care of her like she was her own baby, all the way. Good luck with your choice.. |

| My oldest female DEMANDS attention from everyone and is Daddy's girl! My male is very laid back & very loving and never lets me out of his site! My other female is a tomboy and gets into alot of mischief! I think they are all different just like people and you never know what you are geting because mine all had different personalities when they were puppies! |

| I would just go and see which one you are attracted to. I have a male and female and tend to prefer my female.

| I agree that every dog is different, just like us people. I've got one girl now who is very girly and she sticks with me like she knows we are of the same sex and she is a fu fu dog but I've seen some girl dogs that are tomboys, just as cute but different. Our adult male Bentley has some qualities that are just priceless but he is a daddy's boy. He has never had the marking tendencies like some male dogs do and is very loving and sensitive.

| I think you should ask the breeder about the personality qualities of the parents of your pup to be. My Rowdy (male, obviously) has turned out to be just like his father (at least how the breeder described his father to me). She told me he was very sweet loving and real laid back. When we visited the breeder to get Rowdy, I met his father and was just like that - he let me hold him, he snuggled with me - even though he didn't know me from adam! Well, that is exactly how Rowdy is growing up to be - very loving, very much wanting to please everyone, and very very sweet - and pretty laid back for a 7 12/ month old pup. THOSE are the qualities that I longed for in my new dog - and it seems that those may be the qualities that I got (of course Rowdy is not yet matured, so there may be some surprises). Also, look for the pup that will let you hold him/her on his/her back - and lie still and be comfortable with you in that position. There are some other recommendations for choosing a puppy - but I don't remember them right now. Anyway, the point is that I don't think gender much matters, unless you really have your heart set on one or the other.

I Love Thor Donating Member | males are cheaper to get neutered! Ans it's less traumatic!! For you and the dog. |
