| Bless you for taking her in and giving her the love and care that she deserves. I got pet stairs and put it against my couch because I am scared if they jumped they could get hurt. You can find pet stairs about anywhere. And welcome to yt. you will find tons of helpful advice here. |

| Welcome to YT. As small as your baby is, I would never let her go out by herself. There is too much that can happen to them. Someone could steal her, a hawk or eagle could get her, a larger dog, etc. My boy is 7 pounds and I never let him go out by himself becuase he wants to eat anything and everything he can get his mouth around and much of it is not good for him. There is also poison mushrooms that spring up over night that some dogs have gotten hold of and have gotten sick or died. |

| Congrats on your baby! And how awesome you have given her a chance at a real life! We have an 8ft privacy fence and we never let Cooper who is 2yrs old and 5.5 lbs-6lbs go out alone. We had a horrible scare when he was young, our neighbor had a husky who is the "sweetest thing and would never hurt anything" (yeah right) put his head/nose/face under our privacy fence he was always digging under our fence no matter how many times we covered it back up....I was with him and heard the phone ring, thought he came in behind me and I swear it was only a couple of seconds/minute and heard the most blood curdling sound ever....the Husky pulled him under the fence.....I had nightmares for weeks about that sound. Luckily my DH had just left a ladder by the fence and I grabbed it and jumped over to get him. We were SOOOO very lucky he had no real injuries. The vet was absolute shocked no broken bones or tears. Please know I am not trying to be all doom and gloom and scare you, but these guys are so little they can get under places you would never even imagine.

| I wouldn't worry too much about the jumping; be glad if she can make a proper landing! My shih tzu refuses to use pet stairs and simply FALLS off everything instead of jumping....we've tried everything to stop her but she seems to think falling off the bed, the couch, etc is the best way to move around.....silly puppy CONGRATS on your new addition - thanks for being such a great person!

| Thank you all for the wonderful welcome and good advice and kind words! I know I will be coming to YT a lot to look up info. What a great resource! I will attempt to post a pic of our Sunny here now--hope it works! She is so precious and is doing so well! So sweet and happy. Just a couple of potty accidents so far. I'm thinking of trying to train her to go potty outside and also on the pads--not sure if that works? I will go look through the forums now for info about that. Thanks again! Pam in Missouri |

| Zeke is both paper trained and outside trained, and it has worked very well for us. So, yes, it is possible. |
