| I have 2 yorkies. They are littermates (brother & sister) and will be one year old tomorrow. Bailey, our girl, is around 10 pounds and Buster, our boy, is around 13 pounds. I have read that an "average" yorkie is between 4 to 7 pounds, but that itself is a large range. There are many pure bread yorkies that are larger. Mine are pure bread & there's just more of them to love! It's difficult to know how big they will get, as it seems that growth patterns are all over the place for this breed. I was told to take their 3-mth old weight & multiply it by 2...at that point Bailey was 4 pounds & Buster was 4.5 pounds, so that calculation was off for them. Good luck with your search!!

| My girl Kona is 10.8#. The lady I got her from (the family didn't want her anymore) kept insisting she was only 8# when I went to pick her up. As soon as I saw her I fell in love with her and immediatly knew she was over 8#, but we love her. I was not so afraid for her when I had 3 grandkids 4 years old and younger here for the weekend. |

| Boo is 10 1/2lbs, Gracie Ruth is 4 lbs & Yogi is 5lbs Boo thinks he's 3 lbs and can curl up on my chest like he see's the other 2 do. G thinks she's 50 lbs and can take on all comers. Yogi's happy to have a sister he can push around and a brother he can rough house with. I love all their sizes big or small, they are amazing dogs. There's no guarantee what size a pup will grow up to. Perhaps you should consider an older pup or a rescue to be sure you get the size you want.

| Abby was 6.8 lbs. a month ago when she was spayed. I haven't weighed her since then, but she feels heavier. I wouldn't be surprised if she is 8 lbs. now. (My husband keeps saying "I told you she would gain weight after she was spayed.") She is only 7 months old so she may keep growing for a few more months. At almost 3 months she was 2.8 lbs. My vet told me usually you can double that weight to estimate the grown size. I have also read that you should double the 3 month weight and add 1 lb. to get an estimate, which is probably going to be more accurate for my dog. He has a 12-lb. Yorkie, his mother's dog is from the same breeder and hers weighs only 4.5 lbs. From all I've read, they are a breed that is hard to predict the size. Yorkies for show must meet the breed standard of 4-7 lbs. |

| Bella is just over 9lbs, and I love her to pieces I don't know about one with a "good pedigree", I think most breeders with good pedigree's only breed dogs that are with in standard ( 7 lbs or less), but I'm sure that there are some who end up being larger that a breeder would sell as a "pet" quality Yorkie. There are a ton of people involved with Yorkie rescues on here, you could adopt an adult, then you know going in what size furbaby you have! Plus you also would be saving a furry little life
