Abby was 6.8 lbs. a month ago when she was spayed. I haven't weighed her since then, but she feels heavier. I wouldn't be surprised if she is 8 lbs. now. (My husband keeps saying "I told you she would gain weight after she was spayed.") She is only 7 months old so she may keep growing for a few more months. At almost 3 months she was 2.8 lbs. My vet told me usually you can double that weight to estimate the grown size. I have also read that you should double the 3 month weight and add 1 lb. to get an estimate, which is probably going to be more accurate for my dog. He has a 12-lb. Yorkie, his mother's dog is from the same breeder and hers weighs only 4.5 lbs. From all I've read, they are a breed that is hard to predict the size. Yorkies for show must meet the breed standard of 4-7 lbs.
