| Next time they're mine!! I know all too well the fear and panic that sets in when my furbaby gets out and runs away. So when I spotted 2 dogs (a yorkie and a bichon - both boys from their obvious constant marking), running loose in my neighborhood streets, I knew I had to do something. I was driving when I spotted them, and I would drive a bit and get out to try to lure them with treats I had in my car. They always ran away, and we all know how fast yorkies are! I ran after them for over an hour (hey, at least I got my workout today lol), and I finally managed to snag the chubby bichon. Once I had him, the yorkie followed me back to my car thankfully. I finally had both of them safe and sound and I was so thrilled to be able to call their owner to give them the wonderful news that their furbabies were safe and ALIVE. But what happened next I couldn't believe, and you won't either. When I called and said I have your dogs (6 blocks away, mind you), she said "so, they always run away. They live outside in the yard and they're used to it. They would've found their way home if you let them be". WTF????? I personally witnessed them nearly get run over twice. Then, when this person came to pick them up, she grabbed both dogs and said to them "Let's go.", without a thank you or anything to me. If I was in her situation, I would've kissed the person on the lips! Just imagining JoJo running away tears me up inside! Now, the fact that she didn't thank me isn't the biggest deal, it's the fact that she lets them run loose through the neighborhood possibly getting killed AND the fact that they live OUTSIDE that ticks me off. The yorkie couldn't be more than 4 lbs!! I swear, next time I spot these dogs running loose they're mine. She doesn't deserve them!!

| How horrible! I would be a wreck if Bella ran off, and I've only had her for a few weeks I bet they would love a nice warm house

| Thank you for going after these babies and helping them. I'm in a tense knot picturing them running loose around traffic. I would've given you the biggest kiss in history if you'd saved one of my babies. Why, why, why do people have pets only to treat them like this? I wish everyone could experience a week in the life of their animals - maybe that would fix some of these ignorant people.

| I literally came on here and typed my post the moment I walked in the door after rescuing those dogs. But now that I've had a few moments to think, I'm even more furious. And I'm crying because my heart is breaking for those poor little dogs living outside in harsh Michigan weather!! I'm also angry at myself for not personally driving them home so I knew where she lived, in case I am able to do something about their living conditions. My dog JoJo means the WORLD to me, and seeing those 2 dogs made me imagine what if it had been him?? I ran through so many people's yards I probably looked like a fool, but I didn't care cuz I wouldn't have been able to sleep tonight if I didn't catch them. Now I won't be able to sleep knowing they're sleeping outside. I'm so upset now.

| My Scootie got out one night (DH's fault), and the little boy next door found him and brought him over. He was only missing like 10 minutes but I was beside myself. I gave the little boy a big hug & $10.00! I would snap these two up next time you see them, how awful to have to live outside like that.

| What a horrible woman, who dosen't deserve to own animals. She wouldn't even know if they were gone or for how long. Some people are just so heartless. I often wonder how they could sleep at night. Those poor babies. You did what you could for them. If they are truly out like she says, you will see them again. She has neighbors, I wonder if they have tried to help them.

| Call animal control to see what the leash laws are. I am sure there are some (I grew up in MI and lived in Royal Oak). I wonder if her backyard is fenced.. This is outrageous especially with winter coming..I hope to goodness they are not outside all the time...if they are I would be stealing them...

| If you go to "Regulations Governing Animal Control in Macomb County", you will see a set of rules that everyone in the county has to follow. The dogs can be picked up by animal control for running at large/no leash or failure to wear a license tag while off owner's property. There are certain specs for living conditions and food and water too. So maybe if it happens again, you can get animal control involved. If you had this person's phone number (and if it wasn't a cell), have a tried a reverse look-up? http://www.macombcountymi.gov/Publichealth/animal.htm

| I know theres a law in my town that if the temperature outside falls below a certain degrees and the dog is left outside....the animal can be removed from the premises and you will be fined. Definitely check out what the regulations are in your town.
