Next time they're mine!! I know all too well the fear and panic that sets in when my furbaby gets out and runs away. So when I spotted 2 dogs (a yorkie and a bichon - both boys from their obvious constant marking), running loose in my neighborhood streets, I knew I had to do something. I was driving when I spotted them, and I would drive a bit and get out to try to lure them with treats I had in my car. They always ran away, and we all know how fast yorkies are!
I ran after them for over an hour (hey, at least I got my workout today lol), and I finally managed to snag the chubby bichon. Once I had him, the yorkie followed me back to my car thankfully. I finally had both of them safe and sound and I was so thrilled to be able to call their owner to give them the wonderful news that their furbabies were safe and ALIVE.
But what happened next I couldn't believe, and you won't either. When I called and said I have your dogs (6 blocks away, mind you), she said "so, they always run away. They live outside in the yard and they're used to it. They would've found their way home if you let them be". WTF????? I personally witnessed them nearly get run over twice. Then, when this person came to pick them up, she grabbed both dogs and said to them "Let's go.", without a thank you or anything to me. If I was in her situation, I would've kissed the person on the lips! Just imagining JoJo running away tears me up inside!
Now, the fact that she didn't thank me isn't the biggest deal, it's the fact that she lets them run loose through the neighborhood possibly getting killed AND the fact that they live OUTSIDE that ticks me off. The yorkie couldn't be more than 4 lbs!! I swear, next time I spot these dogs running loose they're mine. She doesn't deserve them!! |
