I thought this was about someone wanting to breed a 12 pound dog. Not a thread on rescues.

Here you go again with the "you" people!!!! Maybe it is time you look to yourself and think about some of the things you say. I have never once seen anyone involved in rescue say the Yorkies were given up because of size and here you are quoting this as a reason..Where do you get your information.

The reason these people shouldn't breed these dogs is because they don't know what the heck they are doing and no one should be breeding unless it is for the betterment of the breed and within standard...and no Yorkies should be brought up in a kennel or an outhouse/outbuilding as far as I am concerned.

Not sure what part of what I said was "out of the ballpark" :confused: I felt that your statement needed to be addressed after the second time your used it in this thread and it being incorrect.

I was addressing your misnomer that rescues are big. I believe the general consensus of this thread was that it would be dangerous and irresponsible (in the very least) to breed a 12 lb male and 6 lb female.

She addressed you because you made this statement "That size is a big issue because As I stated before, oversize is one of the biggest reasons why yorkies end up in recuses" That was addressing rescue which Jody is a big part of. She was trying to educate you that Yorkies do not end up in rescue do to size, so really you are the one who brought rescue into this thread. Elaine

"You people", referring to those of you who just went off on me. I admire "you people" all for the work you do, but right here, right now, this was all unwarranted. You are preaching to the choir. I agree that this dog should not be bred, for what ever reason.

The fact that you bring up other posts of mine makes me believe that you have turned this into something personal that has nothing to do with rescues or breeding12 pound dogs.

I said I stand corrected. I'm not arguing with you. I was totally confused as to what this was all about. Now it makes sense.

Yup that is what I got from it too.

Man I wasn't only wrong once, I was wrong twice. And now we are all educated. Except for the OP who left the building a longtime ago.

You bringing in rescue in this thread and making statements that are just not true.

What amazes me is that you have not told these people not to breed because a breeder should be looking at 3 generations for size. The 12 pound Yorkie possibly came from an even larger Yorkie and the breeding to a 6# bitch could have puppies way to big for her and could kill her. It is not just about the two dogs but where these dogs came from.

Ya I believe that I did cover that in post # 45. But you apparently did not get beyond the word RESCUE.

All I was trying to do was point out that your information was incorrect............because in post #46 GAOMariposa quoted your post thanked you for your information. I felt that it needed to be addressed and corrected and when I did you still insisted that you were correct. It wasn't that I am part of a "you people" but part of rescue and have first hand knowledge of rescue information, statistics and facts. I would defer to a breeder and respect their opinion and I would have thought it would be the same with me as someone in rescue. I showed you several different facts and now I am made to feel like I have caused some type of problem by addressing something that you stated as a fact about the yorkies in rescue. This is JMHO but I like to learn and grown with knowledge and try to make sure my information is correct prior to stating something as fact.

Yes it did need to be corrected. People surrender yorkies for many other reasons that some of you have already posted.

And, may I also add that we get many adopters who are specifically looking for larger yorkies!

I really hope admin closes this thread soon...:( It is getting way out of hand.

This thread was started because a woman wanted to breed a 12 lb boy to a much smaller female...:mad: not why yorkies end up in rescues.

We all know this is not a good idea, so why are we all arguing?!? :thumbdown
