| Trimming their nails... I hate trimming their nails! However, last Sunday when I bathed two adult babies and three puppy babies I decided to do it BEFORE I blow dried them. I just wrapped them up in the towel and it was much easier because the hair on their paws was still wet! Plus, because they were wrapped in the towel-alot less squirming!!! Sooo much easier! |

♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | It is one of the scariest things about owning a yorkie baby especially if you want to do it all yourself like me. Just make sure you have some kwik stop around just in case you cut the quick. If you are relaxed then your babies will be too. Well done and thats a good tip.

| Thanks! Flour works, too! |

♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | I disagree. I used flour the first time when I cut the quick accidentally and my DH came in from work and thought I had been baking a cake(as if lol) it was everywhere and the blood didn't stop.

| Corn starch works, but quick stop is better and less messy!

| I'm going to have to learn quick. We've had our little guy for about a month, and the vet clipped them for me at his check up when we first brought him home. I'm thinking he needs them done again. How often do you do them? Do any of you use the Pedi Paw? |

| The day we brought Tank home I decided to cut his nails, since they were very sharp and very long. He was 17 weeks old, and had pretty obviously never had them clipped. he jerked on the first nail of the second paw, and I cut the quick. I had some coban ("vet wrap stuff" - I work in a human lab and had forgotten to take it out of my pocket), and tried to wrap up his nail with some gauze. After that fell off, I stuck his paw in a bowl of flour. That didn't work too well either...I didn't have any kwik stop, but I just kinda left him to take care of his paw by himself, and the bleeding stopped quickly. Now, he's totally fine. He sits in my lap and lets me cut his nails while he watches tv or something, and he knows he gets a cookie after!

I think monthly is best for Tias nails as that is how often she has her bath.

Ditto!! I have to take Prince to the vet to get his nails cut and pads trimmed. Even there he totally freaks out. My husband came with me the last time he got his nails clipped and saw how he acted. He said it was worth the money ($30)...every cent because of how upset Prince gets!

| Do any of you use the Pedi Paws? I don't know... It seems less stressful. |
