I had some coban ("vet wrap stuff" - I work in a human lab and had forgotten to take it out of my pocket), and tried to wrap up his nail with some gauze. After that fell off, I stuck his paw in a bowl of flour. That didn't work too well either...I didn't have any kwik stop, but I just kinda left him to take care of his paw by himself, and the bleeding stopped quickly. Now, he's totally fine. He sits in my lap and lets me cut his nails while he watches tv or something, and he knows he gets a cookie after!
When I cut the quick on Tia I felt I was the meanest mummy in the world , I didn't realize it happened to so many of us. The thing was is she sits like an angel in my arms when I do it so its not her fault at all.Like you said I'm more confident now and I think thats because I now have kwik stop at the ready lol.
I think monthly is best for Tias nails as that is how often she has her bath.
