I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Just for the record, I appreciate every bit of support I received, and I'm glad that there are those who understood what I was trying to say. I'm not here to "fight battles", and the OP wanted to know if this was normal for one so young, I was only trying to reassure her it was well within the normal range. There's so much to learn in the early months, and I feel like our primary job in the early months is to make the puppies feel secure, yelling at them for every little thing they do doesn't seem to fit into this plan.

I think Nancy can handle herself. No need for the rest of you jump to her defense. | |

| Two points. One: there is a huge difference between having a sense of humor and bestiality or whatever someone is trying to make out of a humorous comment Two: some people just HAVE to have the last word as IF saying things over and over would make everyone agree Same stuff/different day.

Hahahah thank you for bringing it up! It brought some humor into my late night that was kind of stressed due to a very sick pup.... and then brought some more humor this morning. For the record: I do not find normal dog behavior to be disgusting and don't know how someone could say they could not even pick a dog up because it humped toys. A puppy is too young in my opinion to be hearing too many no's. There is plenty of time to watch him and see if the behavior continues. This might have just been a passing thing. The only way I would consider humping "disgusting" is if done by humans in public. Yes, it would be unwanted behavior in a pup, but there is plenty of time to watch your baby to see if he is going to continue it...and then you can work with him to change this. Any time I say "no" to a puppy, I give them an acceptable behavior as a substitute...in other words I distract them.
