coby just turn 12 weeks old and my daughter gave him stuff animals bears
and coby was humpin the bear from the back area i guess hes in heat all ready.?. im going too get him nutated then.. i cant stand too see this.. my daughters eyes was so streach when she saw this oh goodness

Good Lord...puppies do this Male dogs do not go into heat...female dogs do and I would not neuter your little one until he is older so if his puppy teeth don't fall out then you can have the teeth removed at the same time you have him neutered...it is safer for him and cheaper for you....a win win..

Andy is over 10 years. I had him neutered at age 6 months. He still tries to make a girlfriend out of anything he can.

I wouldn't get him neutered this young. Bentley does this sometimes. I think it is kind of an experimental thing at this age.

Neutering may not (likely won't) alter the behavior. He's asserting dominance. Females do it too.

Jackson was 9 weeks old when I got him and from day one, he humped his teddy bear. He got neutered at 6 1/2 months and it's basically stopped. He's now almost a year old. Every once in a while, he will decide to try and make a girlfriend again, but it's rare these days!

Humping is “Bad Behavior” and should be addressed as such. Humping your leg or a stuffed animal is not sexual behavior. It is dominant behavior and definitely should not be allowed. If he or she, (yes females will do this too) is humping a toy or a blanket, simply tell them “No” and take it away. If he/she is humping you or another human, is displaying dominant behavior and showing disrespect. In that case you need to do some research on how to become the pack leader, because if allowed to continue they will begin to show other signs of dominance, if they haven’t already done so.

My female bull terrier was trying to do that to me a few times and I just had to tell her NO and push her off. Also started making her sit and do tricks for food and treats, as well as not allow her on my couch. She hasn't tried to hump me in a month now.

Yes! Thank you for saying this. I agree it is unacceptable. Natural yes, but they need to learn never to do it. So many times I have seen people say oh it is ok just push them away it is natural. But many things a dog does are natural to them and we do not accept it in our world...biting and nipping, relieving themselves anywhere, marking, chewing our furniture, jumping on guests that come to their "den"...all ok in the dog world, not in ours. They learn manners to fit in and the humping thing is no different. A very strong scolding just a few times and they will stop. Also do not give them anything to play with that is big enough to mount. Keep all toys really small. Nothing bigger than there head (when wet!).

Good answer and just what I would have said too! My vet said 6 months and 5 lbs for neuter and it worked out perfectly for Doodlebug and Pebbles. He didn't even charge for the tooth extractions because they were already under and it just was a few extra minutes to remove a few baby teeth.

As for the humping you should not allow this behavior at all. I agree with the previous posts about this as well. Please that all of this advice and run with it and make good use.

Tootsie did the same thing to my BF! They were on the floor playing and she started humping his arm to our surprise!!! We didn't think female dogs did this~we asked our vet about it and he told us the same thing...She is showing signs of dominance!!! She is very loving most of the time but also THINKS she rules the roost!!!

Oh I've seen worse posts, where they actually thought it was amusing, and they were having a party and the dog entertained them with it. Believe it or not they actually have toys designed for this purpose. How perverted is that??

Just need to to firm and kind.
Let them know that you are the alpha.
