| An inch can be nice, and winter IS coming on, but I might encourage even shorter for a pup who has a tendency to develop naps. Chewy's legs had real problems for a while and no matter that we de-matted him every two days, he always had more developed. We took him down to a 1/4" - 1/2" cut and he's doing GREAT with that. This also buys us more time before he has to go through being groomed again. We let it grow back out to about and inch and a half or more before retrimming him. For my money, I like Chewy as short as I can get him without him being at risk for sunburn! |

| We keep Graff cut short. His hair mats so easily and he just looks better short. With his issues with strange people the less he has to go the better. Haylee is just 9 weeks old so I don't know about her. I am brushing her every day so that she will get used to it. I would love to leave her hair long but will just have to wait and see. I know I want her head hair long so that she can wear pretties in her hair. By the way her breeder send me a picture of her that she had taken at 7 weeks old. If someone can tell me how I will post it as I still haven't found the stuff for my camera. Or I can email it to someone and they can post it for me. Lora Graff and Haylee |

| Thanks everyone the photos are great! Last time I got Leah clipped she had her face cut short as well is this normal??? The photo is of her at the moment but hair is starting to grow in her line of vision. (This is how I tell she needs a cut) Dose anyone clip their own dogs? and if so do you have any tips? She is eatting carrot in the photo... she also loves cucumber

| Leah has nearly the same coloring as Chewy, tan and silver! NICE! I have not yet trimmed him myself, as I didn't have hte heart to use that noose thing that groomers use, and I didn't have him trained well enough to let me do it without some kind of restraint. Now, I will probably do it myself. I'd say that clippers with a #2 guard would be the way to go for the body. #1 guard if you are feeling bold! Consider using scisors to trim the bangs and area around the face into a pleasing shape (and out of the field of vision). You may want to do some fake trimming sessions first to get your pup used to scisors in face. You want to be careful to acciedentally poke them in the eye |
