| She went to the bathroom on my sofa! I'm completely lost for words. Lola went pee on my 4 month old sofa! She has had the run of the house for at least five months now and has been really good about going on the deck to use the pee pad. I can't figure out why she decided to use my sofa as the bathroom today while I was at work. It’s not the easiest to clean either. I’ve been scrubbing it for the last hour. The hardest part is the cushions do not come off. Anyone have any ideas why???

| I don't know the answer but I would ask myself if there have been any recent changes in Lola's routine and/or behavior. If so, they might be a clue... I know you're upset and I'm sorry about that. Hopefully you'll figure it all out.

| My first thought was the same as cCat...if something had changed in your house, or routine. My daughters boyfriend moved out here, and stayed with us for several months. When my daughter came home from work she and her boyfriend would spend all of their time in her room watching TV or on the computer. Her cat Bella started going to the bathroom on her bed. Bella didn't like that "he" was in her room, and I think she wanted her scent there. When he moved out she never did it again. If that is Lola in your avatar how can you stay mad at her? Don't you wish they could talk so we would know why they do these things? |

| Nothing has changed...thats why I'm puzzled. Same routine as always. The sofa will be blocked off tomorrow with gates so she will have no access to it. Also, added washable pad on top just in case. Trust me I have learned to live with the accidents, its not a big deal. You can't stay mad at them to long

| Maybe something scared her? Could have been a loud noise or anything she was not expecting. Trying to come up with an excuse for that sweet face!

| Gucci has done that before, he did it because he smelled a puppy's scent on my couch and decided to MARK IT, good thing I have leather sofa's that are easily cleaned. Maybe she smelled a strange scent.. ( a person that sat there or anything like that ) or she was startled and ran there to hide and then urinated out of nervousness or fear. |

| I know what u mean.... Maddie did that recently... well not on the couch but on the carpet... I have marble floors in the living room and carpet in the bedroom. So i only put pee pads in the living room so clean up will be easy just in case they miss. She has access to the whole house and i was proud to say she has NEVER had an accident..... until 2 days ago.... she pooped in the bedroom then the next day, she did it again!!! Nothing has changed in her routine so i dont know what it could be.... Needless to say, we have started potty 101 from the beginning. Pom does this once in a while too where out of nowhere she stops using her pee pads Every time she does this, i just start potty 101 from the beginning and always get back on track... Maybe Lolas was just an isolated incident??? But u cant stay mad at that adorable face : Good Luck! |

| My little Jada does this too, she will go on her pee pads perfectly for a month or so then bam out of the blue she will start going right beside them. Bogie had a problem of pooping on the couch when we first got him. I started gating off the dining room after meals(where they stay during the day) they don't get to come out until they pee and poop. That has helped so much. Bogie hasn't tried to poop on the couch since I started doing that. I have noticed they are sneaky little guys, they wait until your not paying attention to them to make a mess!!! DH says they are throwing a temper tantrum when they miss their pads!!lol (i think he is right)

| OMG!!! I was just coming here to ask if anyone had any suggestions as to why my Mia would have peed on my couch!!!!! She did it two days ago and I thought maybe just an accident, but I just walked into the living room and now the love seat has a big wet spot inbetween the cushions!!! I am at a loss....... she goes through stages where she is fantastic and EVERYTHING goes outside then poof... it seems like there's two to three accidents a day. HELP I don't know how much longer I can keep hubby smiling through this. She's nine months old now.... shouldn't she be trained by now?????
