Update on Yorkie Talk Convention

I mentioned this earlier in chat but what about regional meet-up's instead of one big one? That would ease (some) money issues and traveling issues! Just an idea to think about.........

Belly bands take care of that problem and a lot of dog shows are held in hotels.

Kim have you had any members PM and tell you that they are interested in this? If so how many? I am totally interested, of course it will be depending on what is going on in my yorkie family. Another thing to consider May be a Couple different Locations is the US so the travel distance wouldn't be so far for some.... This is just a thought. I still think this is a wonderful idea and those who want to come and those that don't it is very understandable. It is just hard to please so many members, because we are all over the countryside and all in different financial situations. So this will have to be a situation where majority rules. And if I am not mistaken this is being planned for next year, so most of us will have time to save and prepare..... I know I would love to meet members and their special little yorkies, I think it would be a blast... Just hope I will be able to swing it financially, and no body needs to be bred or whelping ect...

It's a good thought but it would be a financial risk for someone and I think it is probably better to start small regionally, and then see if the regions want to do a big national convention.

I agree with the above... Realistically even with the best of intentions this is going to take more than a few months to plan. It's much better to start off small and then go big later after you see how well the regional ones are
attended. Also by starting out smaller you would be better able to see what
vendor support is available in each area that could later on support a much
bigger event.
