I'm sure lots of people cheat and give little samples off of their plates. I do with Roxie. I'm very careful though. She eats her own food also. Plus, if it's a night where we are having tacos, spaghetti etc. (definately not on her food list) I spoon out a little bit of browned hamburger meat before adding anything to it. Sometimes she gets a little egg mashed up at breakfast too. This won't hurt her and she loves the treat. She's right on target weight wise for her build. 2 1/2 years old and 6 lbs., I wish I could maintain weight like she does. She's healthy and a few bites from the table haven't hurt her yet. It's all common sense because you don't want them suffering with a tummy ache. As far as not doing it because you don't want them begging, I can respect that. Roxie is spoiled and she's filling our nearly empty nest with her big love.

I guarantee if you feed Ace Nature's Variety Raw, he will gulp it down. Guarantee he will love it. Get the chicken flavor and then try other flavors. I second the Nature's Variety raw medallions. Zoe LOVES them! And I do think feeding them first as a puppy rather than an adult helps, since my Jack Russell isn't interested in them-YET! LOL Another YT member suggested sprinkling grated cheese and/or garlic on them to entice him...so if Ace resisted at first you could try that. But honestly, it doesn't get much healthier or better for them and they're EASY (already pre-measured in 1 oz. medallions).

That is crazy to me I dont think they should ever eat chessy broccoli rice, CHICKEN BONES or SPAGHETTI. I think you need to watch what you feed your fur baby because of pancreatitis. Maybe you should google pancreatitis and "what NOT to feed your dog" and then go from there to pick a diet for him.

I DONT GIVE HIM CHICKEN BONES. So they can eat brocolli and rice. Ive read this here on Yorkietalk. I agree that the cheese part isnt healthy but IVe read HERE ON YT that cheese is given on as a treat. I also dont give him a platefull. Just a small tiny bit, maybe while we are eating. PLEASE remember the issue at hand and why I came to ask for advice in the first place. If you are coming here to just to be negative about what Im feeding him then save your post or at least have some helpful advice along with it. (Dont argue that your post is helpful either cause its not, its condesending and implying that Im oblivious to issues dogs may develop) Ive have tried many dog foods with ACE, Obviously not ALL of them, so my point is Im worried about my finicky dog and how I think he is mal-nourished BECAUSE Ive been trying to stand my ground with giving him Dog Food and NOT TABLEFOOD.

I do apologize as I didnt see your previous post, but if I did want to just feed him table food then this thread wouldnt exist. No I have tried lots of diff foods for him but not those rolls. I will look out for then next time Im at the store. Do you happen to know where I could find these?

Petco has them. I've seen them in alot of petstore's tho. I have never seen a dog turn them down They think it's a treat but it's a complete meal.

I didnt consider that he could be dreaming. He hasnt done it again since that day. I was just worreid cause I was thinking about him looking thin and then I saw him do that so I was like.....AGHHH!!!

Oh, I feel your pain. When I first got Fancy she looked a little too thin. You definately don't want to start a bad habit though. I free feed Fancy Nature's Abundance. But you might try doing a search on YT about homecooking. I know there are a few YTer's that do homecooking and maybe you could get some ideas. If Ace likes human food than homecooking for him would probably make him happy! Hope you find something that works!

Im sure you will stumble across the food he likes soon enough. I kept weighing Tia in the beggining to see if she was gaining. It will put your mind at rest. Don't forget they all have growth spurts now and then too so maybe not gaining yet but you never know lol
Any concerns take Ace to the vet and get it checked as you know your baby best . Keep us posted. x

My dogs INHALE the NB dog food rolls. I get them at Petco. I buy the $.99 ones. I know they are more expensive unit wise than the big rolls, but I don't want to bother with those. I give each of my dogs dry NB food, and then they each get half of the .99 roll for dinner. It takes them about 2 seconds. I swear they don't chew. They are like little furry vacuums.

Petco has coupons on their website right now for $5 off $25 and $10 off $50.

If I come home and don't put these up right away and accidentally leave them on my table, my yorkie will JUMP UP on the table and eat through the wrapper. :eek: Pushing in chairs doesn't do anything because he just bypasses those all the way.
