| My 4 month olds ears started flopping backwards. Any advice? I'm very new to this so I hope I'm posting this correctly, but my yorkie puppys ears started floppying to the back of her body. When she was younger they obviously flopped forward (which I thought was cute). When she was about 10 weeks they stood up straight and beautiful... And now they are almost (for lack of a better word) curling backwards... Not very cute, but I love her anyways =) Have you ever heard of this before? Is it normal? If I tape her ears should I do it the same way as if her ears were to flop forward? I have so many questions and could sure use some advice from some experienced yorkie owners! Thanks in advance. |

| If her hair has gotten long on them that will make them flop. Try shaving the hair on the tips. Their ears will also flop sometimes when the are teething.

| Thanks! I'm so excited, I've already learned a ton. I forgot to mention that they are almost fully shaved, sorry. Its really unusual, I know. I feel like I'm the only one in the world with this issue, I can't find much information on it. Thank God I love her to death either way. I hope it won't lead to any medical complications in the future. I'm crossing my fingers that it's a teething phase! =) |

I would tape them... I don't know why they do it, but sometimes they do. They look like you folded them back (like Flash Gordon) and they stood that way don't they? lol 2 of the ear crinkled backwards lol adn 1 now. Just get some Athletic tape and wrap them for 3 days then let them rest a day and wrap again for another 3-4 days. | |

| That is exactly what they are doing! It looks so funny, haha. I'm glad I have some hope. I taped them last night and I'm going to leave them on for a few days at a time. Did you tape them any special way? I hope I'm doing it right. |

Oh no you are not the only one with this problem!! I went through it not too long ago! Teddy's ears were up then the right one flopped. I massaged the ear and it was up for a while and now that same ear has flopped again. His ear only flops at the top though. At first I was upset I thought he was broken haha. But now I love that little ear! I think it gives him his own little personality. I can't believe I was ever upset of a silly ear Also you will come to find that plenty of yorkies here on YT have floppy ears...or just one ear

| Hi, I did do it a certain way but I don't know if that made a difference or not. I used Moleskin Athetic Tape Get the Moleskin and cut a Rectangle or a Triangle the size of the inside of the ear and stick it inside (sticky side down ) This acts as a support for the ear. Then you get the athletic tape and wrap around the shaved ear until it's covered and stands straight. Try not to fold the ear inward when taping or it could leave a crease. I also taped them across in the center with 1 piece of tape to connect ear to ear to help with support. Leave it on for 3-4 days at a time and give a day or so to rest and do it again. I left it off after I noticed the ears were standing for a few days straight. Hope that helps. Make sure |
