| We are back... Hello All- After a very long absence, the gang and I are back. Stanford continues to do very well, and is his usual feisty self. He is now 11, has no teeth, and continues to think he is the king of the neighborhood- attempting to charge after the "big dogs", who run in a pack and are a general problem for our neighborhood. I let him chase them for a few seconds, then holler: "Grandpa! You have no teeth!" and scoop him up. Boy, those big dogs run like the wind from him. LOL Much will be changing for us in the next month or so. I resigned from my job at the state prison, as family obligations will be taking us (Stanford, big dog, and now three cats) to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area very soon. Looking for work there, and trying to find suitable housing. I have visited there maybe three times, but have no real idea of life there. So any help would be appreciated. It does look like there are some good dog parks there, which is a big plus (none here in our current location). My mother is elderly, and needs more assistance than my aunt can currently provide. Aunt is younger, but actually has more health issues of concern than mother. They live together for now, but that will change next year, and I want to be closer by and in a better position to assist as needed. It is nice to be back, and I hope to hear from some of you on how you are doing. I believe that my original story on "finding" Stanford (otherwise known as "Myles" at the time) is probably in the archives somewhere. Best, Matthew

| Good to hear your back. I'm a newbie since you've left, but have become very informed over the past year from all the great people on this site. Hope the move goes well for you! There are quite a few members on here from the Dallas, Tx area. I hope they can help you out further. Welcome Back

| Welcome back, Matthew. I'm in Allen, this is just north of Plano, which is just north of Dallas. Where does your Mom live? I'm assuming you'll want to be close to her. Or perhaps she'll be moving in with you. The job market is not as bad here as in other areas of the country, so hopefully you can find something that fits. If you are looking to stay in the Correctional Facilities line of work, there's nearly always openings in one of the several surrounding suburbs. Also, you might want to look into Security work. The Security companies are always looking for reliable workers and I've not really seen a decline in their employment. There are a lot of YT'ers in the Dallas/Ft Worth area, so I'm sure wherever you end up there will be someone to help you find a new vet, groomer, pet stores, dog parks, etc. And now's a good time to move here weather-wise too. Our 100+ degree days are over for the year and it's getting back to enjoyable outside weather again.
