Thanks for all your honest opinions. I think they are selling higher then they would need too as well. but all new things usually do. I'm sure the price will come down like everything else does as well. But I still think they are exceptionally beautiful and are worth it. As far as a fault for the parties, didn't all dogs begin some where? What's wrong with a new one every once in a while????? Just my opinion. | You are absolutely right. The variety of dogs that we have is due to a few rebels going out on a limb and breeding for different traits.
The parti gene is part of the original yorkie makeup and although some believe that to breed for it is hurting the yorkie breed, I believe that breeding to deliberately eliminate any natural gene is also detrimental to the yorkie breed.
I believe there is room in this world for the entire color spectrum of yorkies. As for the higher prices. If the yorkie breeders had not bred to eliminate this color, over the years, it would be just as common as the standard color and the price would not be so high.
We parti breeders, charge more because we had to pay more. I certainly wish I could have bought mine for about 1/3 of what I paid for them.
The price is coming down as more and more breeders are breeding them. The newest color now is the golden parti. Attachment 291324 |
