I have a male Westie who REALLY loves my husband and I but does not like to cuddle or sit on our laps. He is hyper and always on the go. Just recently he has settled down a little and will come over and jump up and want to be petted and loved. This is partly due to jealousy. He sees Jasmine getting attention and affection and he wants it too. Now I think he has grown to like it.
My female yorkie is very affectionate and likes to cuddle and kiss and always follows me from room to room. I have to watch turning around and stepping on her as she is always behind me. She sleeps with us at night, but always down at the end of our bed. By her choice ever up by us. She sleeps on the couch or on the floor right beside me in the evening but doesn't sit on my lap all that much. Sometimes if I am laying on the couch she will cuddle up in a little ball on me and go to sleep. Loves to kiss me right on the mouth. I never in all my 62 years thought I would let a dog kiss me on the mouth. I don't know what is so different about her versus other furbabies I have had but she is very special.
