| Are your Yorkies barkers? I recently lost my Zuzi to congestive heart failure. She was 15 years old. I miss her terribly. When she was younger she was quite the barker. I was wondering if other people's Yorkies were yippers or barkers. I'd love to have another Yorkie but I'm afraid that it will be a big barker and get my two other dogs (Labradoodles) barking more. We are just getting to the place where they aren't barking as much and quiet down on command. I'd love to hear your experiences. Thanks, Shelley |

| I am truly sorry for the loss of Zuzi. I have 2 yorkies and Padme is quite the barker. She yelps at every noise. However, Anakin is pretty quiet and laid back. I don't hear that much out of him. I would say it all depends on their personalities.

| Layla is not a barker- people are always VERY surprised at how quiet she is- but I think dogs are like kids- they behave in the way that you raise them. She has never been allowed to bark as she goes to work with my parents every day and it is not ok for her to bark there. She knows she can bark at home when people come to the door but that is it. We have 3 VERY yappy dogs in the backyard behind us and Layla doenst' let out a peep even when all 3 are going at it at the fence- she is so funny- she kinda just looks at me like- what on earth is going on back there. |

| Tyler never use to bark until he stayed a few weeks with my mother in law's dog. Now he barks a lot when he's alone which I guess I can understand because he always had her dog to play with ): |

| I'm so sorry you lost one of your babies...I went through that 2 yrs. ago, so I know what you are going through and feeling...As far as a barker, I think it's the luck of the draw...My friend's yorkie barks all the time, but Apple doesn't (thank the good Lord)...To be honest, I'm also afraid to get another yorkie, 'cause you just never know...Apple has, however, started barking a little more in the last few weeks...She just turned 10 months...I'm holding my breath hoping she doesn't like the sound of her voice too much...But if she does, I'll still love her anyway |

| Nah, Jackson's not a barker. He will bark at strangers walking in the door but he's easy enough to get him to simmer down. On walks and such, he never barks. We can walk right past dogs barking like crazy at him behind fences and he could care less, lol. I've taught him from the beginning that crazy barking was NOT okay though! The only time he irritates me sometimes is when he's playing over at my dad's house with the other two dogs, he will bark in a playful manner but it's annoying lol.

| Madison is almost 9 months, and she used to bark at EVERYTHING!! I think in the last couple of weeks she is starting to chill a little.

| I have 5 and only 1 is a barker. She's stops right away when I say "no bark" If I let her keep barking the rest will usually also start barking. They do bark if someone is at the door but then quiet down quickly.

| Bella Mia was a ballistic barker. I am now PATIENTLY working with her by teaching her to bark so I can teach her "NO BARK". She is starting to get the concept...it is cute because when I say NO BARK and she REALLY wants to bark again she lowers her head and tries to bark softly but keeps eye contact with me the whole time. Almost like she is saying "Mommy what if I use my inside voice???".

| Winston only barks if he is playing with the cat and she jumps up somewhere that he cannot reach her or if his daddy is teasing him by pretending to hit him with incoming bombs. Other than that he is pretty quiet...thank goodness!!
