| nail clipping and ear hair removal can someone tell me the easiest and best way to clip the nails and how to remove the ear hairs. my dog is not feeling so well and i dont want to take her to the groomer; i would like to start clipping her nails and remove her ear hair myself. should i invest in the quick finder nail clipper; is that worth it ; does it really work? what powder to use to remove the ear hair; also i have to figure out a way to clip the hair between the paws. thanks for any advice; it would be greatly appreciated.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I've read poor reviews on that quick finder trimmer. I really suggest a simple nail clipper. You only take off the tips and done every week or so...keeps them at the correct length. For hair in the ears..you can take a bit of ear powder, talcum powder, or corn starch....sprinkle it in and you can pull out the hair with your fingers. It comes out easily. To trim the hair on the paw pads...I use a wahl trimmer. It's battery operated and cost 20 bucks. A man's mustache trimmer works too. And you can use this to shave her ears also.

| For paw hair I just lay Eva on my back after she has had a vigorous play, or her bath(which tuckers her out too ), and take scissors and cut the hair by hand. It is very relaxing for her she usually falls asleep. For Eva the trimmer on her feet just seems to bother her. So for us the scissors work fine. So far I actually prefer scissor clipping her everywhere, my husband is more comfortable with the clippers, so just depends who is doing it. I would like to hear the suggestions for the ear hair. I have tried to pull Eva's ear hair out...I think her ear might come off first LOL. The hair won't budge and she doesn't even yelp! Do I need to grip less in my fingers? It is not slipping, just not moving at all?? She is 1/2 Maltese so do their ear hairs not come out???Anyone familiar with this? Oh for nails, I do about a millimetre off every week and a half to two weeks.

| Yes, gripping less should help, but if you still have problems, maybe have your Vet or groomer do it and then you can keep it up.
