| We had the name before we had the puppy! We had both male and female names in mind. No worries a name will come to you! |

| Roo has been the only name thats stuck for a little while. My dad keeps calling him steve mcqueen (like paul anka on gilmore girls...) but that just doesn't suit him at all. He hops when he runs and some of the things he does reminds me of a rabbit so we thought about thumper but i had a rabbit named thumper and then i thought peter but i just didnt like that either. Id love to name him after a disney character because thats what his personality and looks reminds me of which Roo is a disney character but im not sure thats really sticking. |

| Ive been looking and researching yorkies for about 3 years now and had a name picked out from the start (Dieter from the dodge commercials) and then after i saw him the first time Dieter just didnt fit him so i made a list of like 25 names and none of them work. Im gonna feel bad if he starts coming to "puppy". |

| While researching yorkies I had the name Basil pop in my mind for NO reason what so ever. I especially wasn't thinking of the herb Basil LOL When I seen her, I knew Basil was her name. Then everyone picked on my baby and called her peprika (SP?) LOL Then when I picked up TT I knew he had to have an herb name but he looked so much like a teddy bear so I knew I wanted to call him Teddy. I gave him the proper name of Sir Theodore Thyme and call him Teddy Thy. It took me a good 24 hours of constant thought to get his name. Now I have my Bella but her full name is Isabella Rosemary. If I would have had another daughter, her name was going to be Isabella and since I am getting old and my children are in high shool, I figured I better use it on a dog LOL Rosemary just sounds so shabby chic and that to me is calming and southing so that is where I come up with that one. Did I help at all??? LOL

| I named Ben and Sadie the same day I got them, but Rocky has been different. He was one of my puppies so I had been calling them by colors (so as not to get attached -- that idea did not work!) He was Blue. But I did not want that for his real name. I kept facilating between two names -- Cooper and Beamer but they did not seem to fit. Finally, when Rocky was standing on his hind legs sort of boxing with his paws at my son, he said, "We should name him Rocky, cause he loves to box." That just fit his crazy little all or nothing personality. There are some name lists in the Library Forum. Here is the link for the male list: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ames-male.html Good luck!

| Don't worry we took about a week or so to pick out a name that stuck. Before we got him, My boyfriend and I referred to him as "Damien." We even called him that for the first few days. We both really liked that name, but when we told people about it they told us it was a devil's name so we had to change it. I had been getting so used to calling him that though! We went through a bunch of names, I liked Brewer and Domino, while my boyfriend liked Fender and Dio. We had troubles agreeing at first, but we decided that since our cat is named Hendrix, that we should name our dog Jimi. So now we have a Jimi and a Hendrix So just wait and something with come to you. Good luck!

| I always have a name in mind months before i get a puppy and then when you get them home it completely changes. My first yorkie was called Gemma but i was only 9 yrs old when i had her so that is going back a longggg way! Quite the human name, having said that she was like a little person.
