| Help, help, help Hi to everyone, ok here's the situation alright I just got another yorkie (female) from this lady that I know and she said nothing was wrong with her but when I got home I introduce her to my other 2 and we were outside and she used the potty on the porch and we noticed that she has WORMS in her stool I immediately put her in the laundry room away from my other 2 dogs but I'm kinda scared because they was around her for that short period of time My other 2 are vac. and they get worm pills monthly but I don't know if that's going to affect them. I will be taking her to the vet ASAP in the morning to get her some help I hope! If anyone have dealt with a situation sim. please tell me something good!

| Most heartworm meds should protect them against roundworm and hookworm in addition to the heartworm. So, I would not worry too much. Just clean up the spot where she went really well and ask the vet to make sure tomorrow. Good idea to give her a good check up by the vet anyway. Congrats on your new Yorkie. The worm situation should be easy to cure and then you can really start enjoying her!

I would take a stool sample into the vet do identify what type of worm it is. You can deworm her with Nemex II which should take care of the roundand hookworm. But, if it is tapeworm, you'll have to have the doc prescribe Dontel. Remember there are 2 types of tapeworm.....

| Worms are easy to get rid of - even tape worms - the vets have great pills for that and it works in a day - don't panic all will be okay. Karen |
