You are so right. The only thing the heartworm meds do not protect against is tapeworm.

I would take a stool sample into the vet do identify what type of worm it is. You can deworm her with Nemex II which should take care of the roundand hookworm. But, if it is tapeworm, you'll have to have the doc prescribe Dontel. Remember there are 2 types of tapeworm.....
