All of the above! What I've learned the best is that through bad times, you find out who your true friends are. Also, I've learned that you can argue tactfully with someone you may not always see eye to eye with.

I agree and I've learned that there are just AWESOME people on this site -

I can personally mention 2 members in this week alone that are did something out of the kindness of their hearts - Brenda...minniemn ....and Joy....and I am always in awe of what great members this site really does have. People are always willing to share their knowledge and laugh at each others stories -

I've learned so much about yorkies by posting and reading that I feel I could become a BREEDER ! lol - JUST FREAKIN KIDDING ~! but I HAVE learned tons and you can't get THAT by searching the net.

On another note just so you all know what to do in a Bad Storm -

I learned in a hurricane that Men like Meatloaf....Can you believe I cooked a meatloaf yesterday ? My husband wanted it ....and I was like - ARE YOU SERIOUS ? then Kimberly pm'd me and SHE made a Meatloaf for HER husband - lol - so during a Hurricane - COOK A MEATLOAF !

Greenies are ok if you let them only eat to the half way point. It's a pretty expensive treat. I prefer apples and green beans. The most important lesson I have learned is I hurt as much as you do when I read that just one yorkie (or other breed for that matter) has been hurt or lost. I have never had yorkies before and they are so close to my heart now. I have learned about puppy mills and how harmful they are. I have learned that one day I will try to get a picture on the site.

I have learned tons of stuff from this site, some about Yorkshire Terriers and some not. But the best thing about this site is the awesome people.
And the worst thing about this site is I spend way to much time here!! I do need to get a life!

Great answers! It's good to have them in one spot, too. I'm gonna save this thread.

I realized belatedly after posting that some of my "lessons" were open to interpretation. Greenies, for Eddie, are bad because he's a chomper. Sticks, for Eddie, are bad because he swallows them and I find them in his stool. And I hope I didn't offend any owners of small yorkies by saying they are prone to health problems. I meant to say, be careful when buying a small Yorkie because some are more prone to health problems.

We had meatloaf too!! My H begged me for meatloaf so that's what we had!! That is too much!!! Must be Hurricane Sympathy Meatloaf in my house since we are in California.

It's not like we eat meatloaf that often either. In fact i cannot remember the last time we had it!! So bizarre OOOOOOOOO!!!

We put prosuitto in ours last night which was different......I love mine with lots of crusty toast on top!!! Yummmmm.

I SO agree with you - when this Hurricane was hitting the Gulf Coast - I can't even tell you all how many people offered their homes - There were other members offering more and I know I cried a few times -

I know all of us in Texas and LA were TRULY TOUCHED this week - I'm actually in awe of the people here and the friendships I've made with other yorkie people - It really is like one big family. I couldn't say this enough - YORKIE PEOPLE ROCK !

oh yes, and also that when a bad time comes along, we offer our best support and comfort that we can. even if we have never really "met" we still feel like we know these people, and consider them our friends. i think that we have learned you don't have to see people to know they're your friends.
